Typical ignorant attitude towards our young players.

All Ireland Semi Final is not until August 21st. They could play the games mid week or postpone for 1 week. Playing games 24hrs after an All Ireland quarter final is surely not the best option.

Championship on 31st. Only 24hrs recovery for anyone involved. Clubs will have to look after there young players as the county board obviously don't care....

Does anyone know when the 1st round of Senior Championship will be now with the minor quarter-final on 30th?

Quick Question: could anyone explain why the league semi-finals at the weekend consisted of the top 2 teams from division 1A (Div 1) and the top 2 teams from division 1B (Div 2). Seems crazy especially when both division 1B teams got beaten well.

A lot of people to blame here:
1. GAA for not having the 4th official deal with this. What else does he do???
2. Management and Officials for letting this happen. General disorganisation all year by all reports.
3. County Board for bowing to the GAA again with no fight. No brains or balls in there clearly.

We need get over it as a team now and blow Armagh away. Get at them early. They won't have the stomach for it as they know their year should be over. No player wants to win this way.

I'm sure Armagh will be gunning for this game, a chance of redemption. I'm sure they will convince themselves that they deserve another bite at the cherry. 2 weeks gives them plenty of time to get their heads right. If they win they will forget about Laois fairly quickly.

I think you can convince yourself to a point as a player but they are only human. Anything they do this year will be tainted by the fact they were beaten.

In the next round of the Qualifiers Saint. That's where. It might have been the worst  game you saw in your life, but it wasn't the worst performance by a Laois team. In fact, the second half display really impressed me. For the first time in how long I don't know. they were patient and held onto the football. You have to understand that these lads have been neglected in terms of coaching, and a lot of them are very low on confidence. We're no world beaters but there are a lot of counties who would like to have some of these lads. I thought Attride and Quigley were immense today. Worked their socks off. It mightn't have been pretty but we won, and the result is all that matters at the end of the day. At this stage, it's best not to get caught up in how pretty it all is. We have struggled recently as a county. A few positive results can only help, not hinder.

Settle down HF my point is that Armagh are really bad so it doesn't really tell us anything about where we are. I hope we are making progress but this game tells us nothing. Keep it real🙄

Great win in fairness but the worst game I've seen in my life.
Hard to know where Laois are now really.

Dublin up by 9 after 10mins. They took their foot off the pedal then and the game was never in the balance. We can fool ourselves if we like but Dublin could have beaten us by 30+ if they wanted to.

It's not disrespectful.
It's a fact if you think about it.
It's more disrespectful to all but replace them at this stage.
#27
Whatever about Lillis. John Strong & Ciaran Kelly must have nothing to do at this stage😂
#28
That lineup should be enough to beat Wicklow but if that's the team against Dublin we'll concede a huge score......

St Josephs 1 : 10
The Heath 0 : 10

I suppose we may agree to disagree.

My point was Portlaoise dominated in stages yet could never get ahead and put distance between themselves and Boden. To answer your question also having been at the 3 games yes the Longford and Carlow champions were shite. Sarsfields could have possibly beaten them to and were a much sterner test .

Surely a more competitive home championship would have gotten them over the line in Leinster at this stage? You say Boden couldnt live with them but were they (Ballyboden) ever in any serious bother? They would have been IF Portlaoise converted half their chances but they didnt and against lesser teams you get away with that. Against quality opposition you do not.

9 in row is an achievement but IMO is somewhat being tarnished by their lack of success outside of the county. 2 Leinsters and no All Ireland's in that time confounds this. Look at what Cross have done in the same time. And my original point was Portlaoise had no one to stay with McCauley and I stand by that point. He was immense in fairness but I think he really exploited Portlaoises lack of physicality in the middle. If he done what he did to Whelan against Cross do you think he would have sauntered in to set up a score? Extremely doubtful

I think that is nonsense.
Portlaoise had lots of chances to win this game; if they won it no one would say it was handy. They were clearly the more natural footballers and dominated for long spells. It isn't the best Portlaoise team; there are certainly some weaknesses but what they are is a great unit.
Hats off to them, they can hold their heads high.
No one can deny they have been the most consistent team in Leinster in the last ten years.

Maybe if more of them played with the county team the experience of the higher level might get them over the line.
