Huge claim incoming! I'm joking though, must have been scary enough!

Very poor comment from a normally decent poster. Would suggest you rethink that one and maybe edit.

Revelation Space series by Alastair Reynolds. Good space opera stuff with a decent hard science content. Has been on my to-read list for a long time and (having just finished the 2nd book) am really enjoying it.

The Black Company series by Glen Cook. Actually my 3rd time reading the series. It's dark fantasy that isn't that dark but love Cook's writing and the characters he created.

Gridlinked by Neal Asher. James Bond meets hand sci-fi. Found it hard to get into on the kindle, but switched to Audible and found it much better (I find that with a few books - some work better as audiobooks, others as text).

Quote from: yellowcard on January 12, 2024, 11:10:21 AMIt just shows the power of Jimmy that so many people think that Donegal will automatically get promoted and possibly win Ulster just because he is back at the helm. People must have short memories or have they forgotten last season. He will have them fit and organised but I struggle to see how he can have the same impact this time around. His main advantage first time around was the revolutionary tactics deployed when every other county was playing traditional football but this is no longer the case. He seems to be relying on the age old tactic of ensuring his side is fitter than everyone else with rumours of a savage training regime and number of training sessions. However it is only mid January and I don't see that alone giving them the necessary competitive edge when the season begins in earnest. I think they will be competitive again but I would be reserving judgement on them for now rather than buying into the myth. His presence does seem to have got into a lot of peoples heads though which will give them a psychological edge if opponents buy into this.

I actually agree completely with this. I think Jim will have a big impact on the team, but people are forgetting the level that we have been at for the last few years.

being fit and organised counts for a lot in modern football though. I expect Donegal to get promoted alright. Ulster, who knows

It does, but it's the price of entry these days. If you are not super fit and organised, then you won't have a chance in D1, never mind in AIQF territory. I don't think it can be the differentiator today that we were able to make it in 2011/2012.

Sometimes the folding is linked to the button that selects which mirror you are adjusting from inside.

Don't know of any sales contacts but we have one and it's been very useful.

Biggest impact here to young Roarty. Imagine the excitement for him and his family as he lined out, then to find out that he cannot play at all in 2024. Serious questions to be asked of the Donegal setup for that reason alone.

"McGuinness' proposed ban pertains to all team activities – managing, directing, assisting, or communicating with the team in any way during the period of the time-based suspension. "

So why exactly did Armagh send a young team out? I haven't read a credible answer yet. Like, it's not cause of travel given that they went to Dublin. Is it really about not wanting to reveal tactics before a league game? Seems hard to belive that; Armagh are a settled team with relatively well established patterns of play. Is it that they wouldn't get enough of a challenge from Donegal? Possibly, but the gap isn't that big. 2 fingers to the McKenna cup? Don't see why they would want to do that.

Genuinely interested.

Quote from: Blowitupref on November 19, 2023, 04:30:50 PMMark McHugh won't be part of Roscommon senior football management team next season because of travel commitments. Odds on him joining up with Jim McGuinness at Donegal?

Jim was quoted at the weekend that his backroom team is complete (there was speculation that with Kilcoo out, Karl Lacey might return), so it seems not.

NC completely in control. 5-0 after 10 minutes. Looking ominous for GD.

Heading shortly and looking for advice on things to do and don't that you wish you knew before you went, save me making the same mistakes

Great spot - we've been 3 times. Book your restaurants in advance, and if you can, bring your own bikes. The last time we brought some food to cook in the chalet, plus some wine/beer. It was nice to mix up going out, with chilling at 'home'. The activies are very expensive - we found the laser combat and the Aeriel adventure good; the aqua jetting was disappointing. The pool and the slides we the main focus for us - the rapids were mighty craic. If you are going soon, then bring some plastic bags to cover your bike seats - will avoid wet arses. Enjoy it.

Quote from: Applesisapples on October 02, 2023, 08:10:37 AMWhat an absolute contrived load of bollocks, as for McIlroy, the antics were bad but to drape himself in the loyalist rag which represents only on section of NI and which is soaked in the blood of the catholic community, shame on him. Thank God for the Dicksboro v Shamrocks...now that was incredible drama and pure sport.

Good contribution. Fair play.
