FT scores

Antrim 2-14 Offaly 1-8 (Antrim top of the table Offaly finished with 13)
Cavan 0-14 Sligo 1-8  (Cavan up & running, 1st half display lost it for Sligo)

Fantastic result, unbeaten league start to 2012 for the saffrons in both codes

Hurling is definitely the more difficult sport. I've played both and football is much easier to get the hang of, there's just more skills needed in hurling. I've always preferred to play football though, probably because it is easier and you don't need to work on it every day. To be a really good hurler you need to have a hurl in your hand every day, whereas footballs nearly like riding a bike, you can not touch leather for a year and come back and still be at a decent skill level, that's how I found it anyway although I was never great at either sport.

The deaf college is usually a handy place to park when going to croke park, only maybe a 10 minute walk to it

I haven't looked at the county guestbook in months. What's annoying him now?

Glenravel, Davitts and Ardoyne dropped down to the JFC, a lot of people are giving off on the board about how they shouldn't be allowed to do this and he, as usual, is responding in a less than helpful manner. But to be fair it's not his fault they dropped down a level

Bit of a shame to see 3 intermediate teams dropping down into the Junior championship. Surely the county needs to look at this to stop it happening?

Glenravel to play Mitchels.... Oh dear. Mitchels didn't even score in the championship last year against Ballycastle. Looks like a few teams were looking for an easy championship win.

Is the Crokes/Cross match going to be televised?

If not any website streaming it online/radio?

I think it is on TG4, coverage starts at half one and match at 2. I think the Crossmaglen V Dr Crokes match is on live and the Garrycastle V St Brigid's match is deferred

Casement Park revamp put on hold

Work on the redevelopment of Casement Park will begin a year later than expected.

The Irish News reports that the redevelopment of the Belfast venue won't start until the end of 2013, meaning it will be available to host National League and championship games next year. The Ulster Council plans to demolish the existing stadium and construct a new 40,000 capacity all-seater stadium at a cost of £76.4 million. The British Government will contribute £64.1 million towards the cost of the redevelopment.

When completed, the new Casement Park will replace St. Tiernach's Park in Clones as the new headquarters of Ulster GAA. The invitation for tenders reveals that the deadline for design is February 2013, and that the planning application will be submitted in the same month.

The construction period is expected to last 21 months.

Really didn't see this coming at all. Huge loss for Tipperary, I hope he does come back, he was great last year and I think he had a few years left in him

Next up is a young lad who doesn't work yet gets handed a new home which he openly admits will be used as a party house stating the reason for moving out was that he fell out with his da and he wanted somewhere to have a quiet drink.

This would be the same da who came over and cleaned up his house for him and helped him move in, looked like it was a massive fall out. I think he just wanted a place to drink without his parents telling him off for it

Then you have a family who have a child with severe disabilities who struggle to get by with both parents working different shifts.  They are trying to get a new house to facilitate their daughters needs but can't get out of there current house.  Then it turns out that they could get out in an instant if they didn't work and were on benefits.

Now, in my reckoning the only people who you can have sympathy with is the family with the daughter with a disability.  The other families/losers can go an jump if they're looking the sympathy vote, they get enough handed to them without seeking sympathy from a newspaper and the public about how they are being portrayed...

Really did feel bad for that family as they work and own their own homes but get feck all help whereas if they had been just lying around all day doing nothing they could have been in a Bungalow already. Also their house was pretty well kept and look quite clean compared to some of the other houses. It looked like they took a bit of care with their house and looked after it unlike some of the others who just had it handed to them.

And that one girl who wanted a job but only one that was for like 4 hours a week
