We were flattered by the finishing scorline but we did create some clearcut goalchances which if converted would have made it very interesting. Army had two, Nicky had one he elected to take a point from. But thems the way it happened I guess. Well done Meath they will beat Sligo if they get them and I believe Kerry are not the awesome power they are being sold as.

GAA Discussion / Re: Where now for Galway?????

New faces given a chance to get to the same levels of fitness of the existing players it doesn't just happen over three FBD league games. There are club footballers there who I would like to get an extended run with Galway not the couple off weeks and then get discarded. Declan Meehan was not a regular until the 2000 campaign after being on the panel from 1996. Paul Clancy similar story. Sean Og similar story. So give some of the outstanding club players a real run at this level and not the token 1 or 2 FBD league games.

For example I'd be talking about
Michael Mitchell ----Killererin
Brian Kilroy ------Caltra
Paul Gately -----Caltra
Colm Colleran ----- Mountbellew Moylough
Cilin De Paor ----- Cheatar Rua
Brian Faherty ------Moycullen

In one way gutted that Galway lost but in another delighted that these Sligo players got what they deserve and I'd urge them not to settle for this these oppurtunities don't come along often and they should aim as high as they can.

On Galway

- Forde should go and its easy to say now but he should never have got the job. He has no clue on the line he doesn't react to how a game is going changes are made for the sake of making changes.
- Paul Geraghty is not Kieran Donaghy.
- Why take Blake off if he was not injured he was disgusted when he was taken off.
- When did Niall Coleman ever play corner forward.
- Why move Mike Meehan from centre forward and Nicky from wing when early in the game they were really looking dangerous in these positions.
- It will be hard to pick it up from here even though its only one game before they are back where they would have been if they won but what hope is there with Peter Forde he makes Steve Staunton look like a tactial genius.

What probably caught Joycer was the fact he just looked at the leitrim Goalie before the ball dropped

What has happened to Shrule you'd have thought with some of the names they have they wouldn't be losing with that sort of scoreline.
Is 2.10 to 0.3 correct?

Shock of the round had to Annaghdowns win against Killererin what went wrong DE. Menlough really put it up to Caltra as I expected and it was only the man that is Mike Meehan that proved to be the difference.

Elsewhere wins for Cortoon , Salthill, Mountbellew, draws between Ballygar & Clonbern, Claregalway & Tuam not sure of the rest of the results. Milltown and Caherlistrane went to extra time not sure how it finished though.

Steady on there lads resigning it is only March after all but there might be a point both men might have brought the teams as far as they can and maybe a fresh face is needed. Its hard to get to the top staying there is even harder makes what Kerry have achieved since the late nineties all the more remarkable in League and championship they've been  remarkably consistent.

Life isn't fair when someone like Mairead is taken away she was a true lady who will be missed by all who came in contact with her.

I loved the one about Soccer having suprassed Gaelic and Hurling as the biggest participation sport in Ireland I think he should definitely check that before he goes pulling stats like that out of his ass. Sure half the lads playin soccer are the Gaa boys tryin to stay fit.

What's the crack with Paddy Christie - is he still injured or will he be back at all?

I heard Christie had his Gilmores Groin repaired and from what I know about it thats not an easy one to get back from it takes a while to get back up to "full speed"

Tara would be favourites. Damien Healy (Westmeath)

Did Healy from Westmeath not transfer to Salthill in Galway this year how can you transfer to two different clubs in the one year mind you he did not play att for Salthill as I recall
