There are more than enough open topics circling the wagons on similar topics.
No need to keep starting new ones.

Topic merged.
No need to start a new one on a subject that already had a very active discussion going.

The origins of this community would have been the gaa.ie (unofficial at the time) guestbook from 1996 to 1997.
In 1997 a Discussion Forum was added to the gaa.ie site.
In 1998 it moved to a Usenet newsgroup.
A lot of people were struggling with the Newsgroup format, so in March 1999 the first edition of this forum appeared on gaa.hypermart.net free hosting domain, with most of the newsgroup people migrating over to it.
In 2000, the gaaboard.com domain name was used for the first time.

I have a screen shots and samples of some of the various guises of this community that I must pull into a proper document.

Could posters call a halt to the personal attacks and stick to debating the issues respectfully.

General discussion / Server change
July 21, 2011, 02:34:29 AM
We've moved to a more performant server at a different IP address.
It can take a couple of hours, or a couple of days for the new location of the gaaboard.com domain to be picked up by various ISPs, so in the meantime, the new instance of the forum can be accessed direcctly like below.

http://209.200.237.116/~gaabo3/board/index.php

In a few days, we'll switch the forum root url back to being gaaboard.com/board/index.php etc.

If you come across any glitches from the migration, drop me a pm.

Regards,
Admin

what are these things? are they something new or have I messed up my settings?
Some of the busier county topics have been moved into forums of their own.
That way the local discussion can then start to spread into several topics without causing much inconvenience.

If people don't like it we could move them back into one forum again.
If the demand picks up, there could be a few more county sections added.

There is no move underway.
People who had registered years ago on the old ezboard version of this forum (which became yuku.com) probably got an email about some migration over there.

I hope no one got too distressed about it!  ;D

Seriously lads.

The multiple usernames, re-registrations of previously banned posters and continual starting of topics appealing of bans of same is getting tedious at this stage.
The small group of posters behind this would be better off sticking to posting as their usual usernames, rather than going to ever more elaborate ways to get new handles and attempting to help sneak back in other nuisances.

This topic is now locked.
It has long since moved from its initial subject and spiralled downwards.
Attempts to re-start the squabbling elsewhere will incur warnings/bans.

Quotenext poster to restart the above thread  will be given a 4 week ban. It has been removed several times and if posters persist with that sort of gutter talk and want to go against the administration of the board they can do it else where.

Mod1

This topic has been closed. Any poster who, in the opinion of the moderators, purposefully starts/restarts the above discussion, any related discussion or makes any posts dealing with the topics raised in previously closed threads will be given a 4 week ban .
