Shocking! Thats what that was. Every decision from team selection to substitutions to the game plan POR gets totally wrong! Complete joke that hes in charge. Conceeding 1 -20. We ended up with 4 midfielders on the pitch just standing in a line. I don't know what goes through their heads. Some very poor performances from some of the players Mcevoy, Finn mo, Toner, Vernon, Watters, Murtagh. How did aron kernan not start same with hearty? So many things i could list. Totally depressed that we have to endure this management team!!!
agreed county board have to see about amount of people leaving with a few mins to go
POR and mc gurn out of their depth sorry please go

... I genuinely think that with two serious games  in the league left that POR if he plays his team has left himself open to a serious amount of criticism and deservedly so in my eyes , Down aren`t experimenting, Tyrone aren`t ,why are we ?

wee James has certainly opted to play one or two players in every game that we would not expect to see start in the championship.

I think it has made us a stronger squad but possibly our best 15 have probably not played together this season. Do you think it would be better for Armagh to simply play the strongest team every game? I think both approaches have their merits.

too late in the day for this, watters/murtagh have been there since January yet this is the first time they start, we all know what Mal Mackin brings to the party ffs he played in newry against Down in 2006  ,  if we are to be experimenting try the Cross lads ( mckeown , cunningham, hanratty and mc kenna have never had a chance)not guys who could have played in any of the preceding 5 games, I have followed Armagh for over 30 years and I still can`t fathom what POR is doing with this team, at least with Joe we knew what out tactics were like them or not, same with mc donnell and with the two Brians but we are chopping and changing every week.
just a point has watters had any game time this year and if it is minimal waht makes POR think he can play such a pivotal role in the team now.

Can't see this team starting, why try murtagh now when he has been on the panel all season same with watters, whilst I hate to say this POR and DM are setting themselves up for a lot of criticism if Armagh beaten and this team starts.
What is the point of bringing the cross boys on when  mc keown, kernan, mckenna and cunningham are not on the subs bench, how are we going to get a system, the  team should have been gearing towards may but we are further away than ever, my pick
Hearty
Mallon donaghy morisrity/mckeown
Dyas mc keever Duffy
Toner Vernon
T kernan swift mc kenna (coming in as a third midfielder)
Clarke mc donnell  A kernanas (the spare man in defence)

looking at this side again from the point of view of watching a lot of club games, my rationale behind ak  as a spare man in defence is that i genuinely believe he his the best ball carrier we have, also when watching the cross games he seems to be the guy giving the talks in the huddle therefore has leadership qualities, coupled with his passin ability and overall game intelligence i think he could be a marty clarke type player, getting the ball from deeep and spraying the passes into the forward line ,  with regard to Mc Kenna I am lukewarm on him but we have to see can he cut the mustard, if I recall he played 2 mins against wexford and that is about all in a serious county game over these past few years, we need to see if he can step up and with one game against Cork to go what chances does he have( same for mc keown,T kernan, cunningham and hanratty because friendlys coming up to the championship are not a true indicator),

naka - not at all. I find this soccer style hounding of managers quite amusing.

sorry wobbler its just that its not too often that i see a ballyholland man with a furtive interest in the orchard.

we know that POR is not going anywhere fast  but as supporters who are asked to donate money to friends of armagh etc we need to see improvement, a forward line of say two clarkes, swift, stevie and say s kernan and brian mallon would have movement and should have some interchangeability, I dont see this developing under POR . I remember the ulster final in PORs first year with Down and realising then that he did not have to nous to close out a game in which you were 9 points up.
POR was not first choice for the gig at the time but i would have hoped that he would have learned from his time in charge of down, he hasnt and i think it is a telling point that if the down job came up next year and he was available most down punters wouldnt want him on board and he is a native of your county.
its not hounding of managers its realising that someone is making a poor fist of the cards he has been dealt with.

Winning something once does not give you a pedigree.
wobbler you seem to have too much interest in all things armagh for a down man,
if i was in your shoes i would keep my powder dry until june.

[ Even should Ronan Clarke return with the vivado of old, you still have to get the ball to him and Stevie. It's difficult to see who in the Armagh set-up can take on that role against limited opposition, let alone the cream of the pack.
[/quote]
wobbler the only cream i see in the 32 counties competing for sam are dublin, kerry and cork, Armagh should be confident against anyone else, I for on expect them to beat down in May and having talked to one player yesterday his words were
" the only game we are interested in and fully focused on  is the down game, nothing else matters" i remember mc geeney saying something similiar years ago, the league means nothing .

guys whilst we may wish for a change POR is going no where, what he needs now is help in the forward line and he must seek it and I am sure there is someone in the county  to assist him in this regard.
for me beating down is a must coupled withe a run to the quarters

can see ak playing in the gap between full back and halfback line which may suit him
we have a forward line of the two clarkes, stevie and swift to date, for what its worth we should try stphen kernan again
btw who are the cross boys joining the panel

disappointing display yesterday from the majority of Armagh players, felt sorry fro brendan donaghy and young grugan as they were under pressure from the start and things only got worse for them,
mc keever had a great game  and midfield functioned well but forward line didnt function at all( save for swift and stevie),
kerry should have put us away by a far bigger amount and always seemed to play within themselves, two great saves from the keeper and a great block from Andy, also noticed Ref was going to give a free against Armagh in second half and realised he would have to give a penaltyas was in the box so chickened out.( ref has really gone downhill in the last two years)
Management poor again today altho i hope he was jusy emptying the bench to give guys who may not feature in the championship squad some game time but am not so sure
thinking about the cross guys
mc keown, heart, AK and clarke should start against GALWAY AND Stevie in the irish daily mail says that R clarke is now training on the pitch with the team and ready ito play in about 4 weeks( i would say the whole of the GAA fraternity in the orchard is praying that this is true as he need  gametime and to feel a few hits )

Murtagh in the indo reckons Jamie , AK and TK will be available on sunday
he also says that Ronan Clarke wont play in the league with a more realistic target being the Down match, Clarke is presently working in an oxygen chamber and his rehab is being supervised by Mc Gurn and the team doctors, they are ensuring he is 100% before he is let play after what happened last year, Good news is the " he is really chomping at the bit to get back playing"
