Alan Brogan played 6 championship matches in 2011 - got man of the match in 3 of them, lead the line for Dublin excellently in all 6 matches and was pivotal to Dublin's attacking play throughout AI final including kicking 2 super points! If that doesn't demonstrate consisyency I don't know what does?

Lacey is a fine player but will not come close. Darren O'Sullivan will push Brogan all the way while Cluxton is a dark horse if they decide to go for something different!

McKenna has always been a bitter anti Dublin bluffer!!. Stuff him and all the other anti Dublin jounos and posters here. The next 12 months are going to be painful time for him and his ilk!!

We will deservedly get 6/7 all stars, player of the year and have good chance of young player of the year!! Couldn't care less who gets the rest of them!!!

Up the Dubs - All Ireland Champions 2011!!! Love it!!!!

Most incredible Dublin game I've ever been at. The Hill was phenominal yesterday. Last 10 mins just a blur.

One thing I would say though to those saying Kerry gave it away. They absolutely did not!!! Dublin took it - won the match by playing the full 70+ mins with massive heart and determination and composure and skills and a bloody minded belief in themselves.

No one should doubt the Dublin team!!!

Dublin minor team is best minor team we've produced in long time. They struggled during early stages of 2nd half v Galway but should have been out of sight by then. Still won the game having turned it around and scored some super scores. Prior to that they had steamrolled Leinster and hammered Cork team from start to finish in q/f keeping Cork scoreless in 1st half. When was last time that happened to any Cork team?

Tipp appear to be good team but would be very surprised if Dublin don't have enough to win. A bit like the seniors the s/f willl stand to them. Also to note we have 7 players on panel and 4 on starting 15 who were on minor hurling team. These guys have had tough 6 weeks but have had just the football to concentrate on last 2 weeks since minor final.

GAA Discussion / Re: No hype about Dublin

It's quietly building but not like previous years. Then again it's such a bloody long time since we got to the final. And there's been a lot of pain since the last one!

In last 9/10 years Dublin have had 4 semi final defeats and 5 quarter final defeats including absolute trouncing in 2009 by Kerry.

There's a lot of hope now rather than expectation. It's expectation that drives hype! As Gilroy said we're just happy to be in the final. Dublin will however go hell for leather to win AIF. And if they do.....................!!!

Dublin team from 2009 - 8 players from current team. Thought it was less. However none of our current back 6 played in that game. Think we are a lot stronger there than we were plus Gilroy game plan should cope with Kerry much better. Think also the likes of Flynn and Bernard are much better players now than they were 2 years ago.

S Cluxton; D Henry, D Bastick, P Andrews; P Griffin, B Cullen, B Cahill; R McConnell, D Magee; P Flynn, D Connolly, B Brogan; A Brogan, C Keaney, J Sherlock.

Also it's not right or fair that the kids can't go out on the ptich at half time for a kick or puck around as they can do at all of Dublin's games in Parnell Park!!

Dublin have very different team and very different gameplan from 2009. Would expect only 3-4 of that Dublin team will start in the final. For thes rest of them it means absolutely nothing. Those guys have played Kerry twice and beaten them twice!

Key lesson to be learned from that game is that Dublin need strong start. If we stay with Kerry for first 20-25 mins then it will definitely be game on!

There will be hard core element on the Hill who will try very hard to get on the pitch if Dublin win. As much as I'd like to be on the pitch if Bryan Cullen is lifting Sam definitely don't want to see anyone get hurt.

Would expect GAA have thought about this eventuality and will have 2-3000 stewards with barbed orange mesh fencing, snarling dogs and if necesaary snipers at the top of the Cusack stand to make sure no Dub gets on the pitch at the end  :D

The big challenge for Dublin is that you know Kerry will perform in the final. With Dublin you can't be sure as we've had too many blow ups over the years to trust them fully.

However firmly believe Gilroy and this team are different. They will play and work together as a team for 70 minutes and have a fitness level that Kerry will not better. We also have more scoring threat up front now than any point in the last 10 years and have beaten Kerry last two times we've played them in the League. Kerry certainly didn't want to lose the one in March.

We do have a very decent chance but Kerry would be firm favourites based on what this team has already achieved and the class upfront they still posess. Cant't wait!!!

That's a load of nonsense. The only reason he got sent off was that Boyle fell to the ground holding his face. Connolly was hit in exactly the same way by Kavanagh and stayed up. Neither was a red card offense unless you want ridiculous situation of 5/6 players being sent off in every game.

The rules are the rules but the referee must use common sense and proper judgement in making a major decision to send off a player in any game but particularly in All Ireland semi final. The reason for the red card being rescinded isn't clear but whatever the reason justice has most definitely been done.

Marty Boyle though is still a disgrace to his team/county!

A load of self serving rubbish from Duggan trying to defend his own county. Strange there's no mention in his article that he is from Donegal - at least that would have been honest of him.

Spillane, Brolly and O'Rourke are paid to voice their opinions. t's the nature of their business that they overstate their opinions from time to time as Dunphy does with soccer and Hook with rugby. In essence they were absolutely correct in regard to Doengal's negative approach and also in regard to the cynical bull sh*t behavious of many of the Donegal players from start to finish of that game.

It was the worst game of football I have ever attended and if football is going this direction myself, my kids and the lads I go to the games with will not be paying in to watch it.

Mr Duggan might try to look at the bigger picture and be a bit more honest about his motives in voicing his opinions.

GAA Discussion / Re: All-ireland Final tickets

Lot of tickets about for the hurling final. Have connections in Tipp and no problem sourcing tickets from there. Ended up getting 2 Hogan tickets from Dublin club.

Football is completely different story - will be killings for tickets as David Brady might say!!!!. Amazingly Dublin County Board sold off remaining Parnell Park passes earlier in the week which guarantees you ticket for the final plus free entry to all Dublin national league games plus free entry to Parnell Park for all club matches - hurling & football. All of this for €130. Not surprisingly they were snapped up. Have mine for years thankfully!!!

GAA Discussion / Re: Dublin - The Superpower

Would suggest people try and take broader view re investment in GAA in Dublin. Irish rugby team might be banjaxed but Leinster rugby definitely aren't. If anything Leinster have overtaken Dublin in large areas of the county as foremost sports team. Media certainly here give them huge attention. You can also notice dearth of Dublin jerseys around the city this year + fairly sizeable fall of in attendances at Dublin games this Summer. Of course that will chnage with runup to AIF.

Dublin GAA need an All Ireland very badly to compete with rugby & soccer in the city. The GAA itself needs a strong GAA in Dublin to ensure media coverage and sponsorship nationally. Them's the facts whether you like/dislike Dublin.

Don't know what game you were watching - he didn't touch his face. Pushed his hands into Boyle's neck.
