The issue here is about much more than an incompetent fcukwit landing himself a top job in World soccer, it is also about the "right" of the so called 4 "British" Associations to have a permanent Vice President and indeed about the right to have four separate "British Associations" in the first place.

In the year of our Lord 2007, is it not ridiculous that the so called four "British" Football Associations have an automatic Vice Presidency of FIFA role?  This means that the failed administrator Jim Boyce, President of the IFA, will unbelievably be FIFA Vice President in 2011, and will have a major role in managing soccer globally when he has palpably failed to modernise a small association that has a shambolic administrative system which fails to even register players correctly and still retains archaic laws on its statute book such as the ban on Sunday soccer. Surely the elevation to such lofty heights should be on ability not patronage.

Lest anyone think that this is a politically motivated rant, trawl through the OWC website and discover what OWC Supporters think of Boyce

Visited this for the first time yesterday (in the Cardinal O' Fiaich Library just behind the Cathedral and my alma mater) and was mightly impressed. Brought back a lot of memories and some great club exhibits on show as well. Amazing how far Armagh football has come in thirty years, in 1973 we couldn't even field a team in Leitrim for a NFL Game, and newspaper reports at the time highlight the dilemma facing Armagh football, with the County Board threatening to resign en masse.A few great photos of a baby faced Neil Lennon with St Michael's HS Lurgan team in 1984 as well.

Good to see the visitors book signed by people from as far away as Cork.

The only downside is the plethora of Armagh CBS photos etc. Granted they were technically more successful in the 70s and 80s than St Pats, then again they were only playing B Football ;D

Ironically one of our better performances in recent years, with few if any real failures. Oisin Mc Conville must surely be one of the best finishers (if not the best) Ulster has ever produced. On the bright side I think we have invested far too much effort in recent years winning what are now meaningless Ulster titles (2005 springs to mind) to the detriment of our performances in the latter stages of the All Ireland series, and yesterday's defeat may well be a blessing in disguise

Also what was big Joe on about? You couldn't have put a cat in the ground yesterday at the end of the Minor Game never mind any more fans. :o

A significant capture for London's most cultured and arguably historically most renowned soccer club. The decision of the young Welsh wizard to opt for Spurs in preference to the Amercian owned conglomerates in Liverpool and Manchester surely augurs well for the future and shows that there is a perception among the discernible soccer adherents that we are now most definitely a club that is going places and well worth joining

Equally importantlt he hopefully will be the answer to all Spurs fans prayers and an answer to a lot of our defensive problems. Chimbonda, Dawson, King and Bale is a back four that surely will not leak goals easily next season in an any competition

At last the geek causes universal rejoicing among Northern Nationalists, and I suspect, among a substantial number of our separated brethern in the 26 counties as well. Goodbye Geek and Good riddance! ;D

The real pity is that Barcelona were out of sorts when they played Liverpool and we were denied a dream final pairing of Milan Versus Barcelona, Europe's top two current clubs.

Interestingly with all the money floating about (and the top players comning to England as a result), Premiership clubs fail to win the Champions League once again.

How dare anyone blame Liverpool fans for causing trouble. Don't you know rightly it was the fault of the Police as usual. Cue another book, film, play and campaign for justice from the Mersey mopes. I was in Glasgow last week for the UEFA Cup Final and the behaviour of the Spanish fans from both teams and the Glaswegians (including the local Police) was exemplary, I witnessed not one hint of trouble either in the City Centre or the stadium itself

On a further note, is there anything to beat the feeling of seeing English teams getting duffed in Champions League Finals ;D

Surely Kevin Moran and Gerry Mc Elhinney are the most successful GAA/Soccer players of all time, as both won GAA All Stars and International caps in soccer.

Houlie did play for Sligo Rovers and actually forwent his place in the FAI Cup Final  against Derry City(which Sligo won 1-0 at Lansdowne) in 1994 to play for Armagh in a Championship game against Fermanagh. Sligo were managed by Willie Mc Stay,Paul's brother, now head of youth affairs at Celtic

Shocked to read of the death of my former schoolmate and member of the 1977 Armagh Minor team, Paddy Mc Stay, from Derrymacash, in to-day's Irish News. Unbelievably that brings to a total of three, the number deceased on that Armagh minor team.

My monthly enewsletter from the Ulster Council tells me that Tir Na Nog have a non nationals team competing in tournaments?

Does it include people born in Maghery and Ballyhegan then? :o

No need for any play offs ffs the fixture list is already overcrowded.

In any case, Spurs are knocking on the door for a top four spot, with a few strategic signings (ie a couple of full backs and a creative midfielder) and a will to resist the largesse from the Manchester based American billionaires hence retaining Berbatov, I feel we can replace either Arsenal or Liverpool in the top four next year, both of whom are vulnerable.

PS Well done on Berbatov and Robbie on their joint player of the month award for April. Good to see someone outside the top four loadsamoney clubs getting a bit of recognition

Good enough sqaud, little point in bringing the senior players along (they have enough experience already and the coaching staff and management know all about them). But where is Darren Gibson?
