General discussion / Re: Smoking withdrawal

Had tried patches and gum before and going cold turkey none of them ever worked or I just hadn't the will power. Went to the Doc and got a prescription for something called champix, on the seventh day of it now. I'm still smoking as per directed by the instructions up until  day 14 of the prescription, but the drug has really given me a broken sleep pattern  over the last few nights and I've found that where as normally, I'd have two left in a box of 20 by the morning, I have five or more now left from the day before.

Used the Champix myself too, great stuff, you still need will power but takes the edge off big time. only side effect I had was a bit of a unset stomach after taking the tablet in the morning but it went after 10 mins. Figure it was cause of an empty stomach. Know a few people that have used it now too and that was about the only side effect they had too. But have heard the horror stories too just not from anyone directly yet. Best of luck with it lad best decision you will ever make.

I second McGinleys, always a good band on there, go upstairs. also from McGinleys to can go out to where the smoking area is and there is small bar there called the Downtown Bar and the DownTown Bar connects into the Voodoo (via the toilets), so 3 bar and you don't have to go far. So it handy for that, Voodoo downstairs is usally packed but there can be a good band on there and they usually play on till  about 2. The Night club of the voodoo is upstairs and if you are into a young crowd and dance music go for it.

Tyrone have scored 6-54 in their first 3 games(24 point av P/G) , with a largely experimental lineup. Although, it is only January and the opposition wasn't the greatest, this is fair pegging ;) Where are all the puke football enthusiasts?

You would have though then they would have won all their games then if the opposition was not the best

General discussion / Re: Garda killed in Donegal
December 15, 2009, 06:18:16 PM
Reading between the lines a bit here, but what I think the case was in regards the Regs. The D get would have been the guards and the NI reg the guy they were after. As it is the Garda Ombudsman Commission that is looking for witnesses.

From all reports the Garda car that was rammed had pulled way into the hard shoulder and was even a bit off the road, so have suggested the he went out of control when he seen the Marker Garda car at the side of the road, maybe he thought they had set up a stinger, but whit it being a frosty night he lost control of the car and ended up hitting the Marker Garda car. The driver of the car was from Donegal but driving a NI reg and yea he was banned recently.

Garda Gary McLoughlin had just set up home with his Girlfriend too, May he rest in peace.
