I'd say nearly half the hurling panel are also football panellists.

They'll be on the beer until then! Fair play to them, though!

Yeah, I wonder how long Slieve Margy will last.

I believe there's a bit of bad feeling amongst those who prefer hurling, because their management gave two walkovers in the intermediate championship - including a relegation play-off - although they were able to field in the Junior C. The football end seemingly is scapegoating the hurlers for the fact the footballers couldn't win their intermediate championship, so it's a bit up in the air, I think. However, it's hard to see them letting their hurlers off, because they night well not play football for them then, either. Who knows.

I heard he was supposed to get the first game, but maybe that's not true.

Won't be decided until May, I believe. Probably after the round-robin series is over, so all teams will be trying to win the group and not throwing a match the get the (possibly) cushy second spot. I must say, I think Leix will be doing well to get out of that group at all - whether second place or top - and on this year's form they certainly wouldn't have.

Fair enough. When I was younger, a lot of people wrote it as 'Laoise', and I suppose the habit has stuck a bit.
Also, it's often written in progrmmes as 'Laoise'.
However, I accept you may know more about this than me!

Yes, indeed, Rosenalis were much, much better. They were first to the breaking ball, they were stronger, and they were fitter. However, they also hit some horrendous wides, and pucked quite a lot of ball into the Ballacolla goalie's hand. Both sides are capable of better, but Ballacolla, especially, were a big disappointment. Rosenalis were always going to win this championship, and I don't think any of the other teams in the grade would have got any closer to them.

I suppose the Intermediate is in effect the Junior final - a third grade competition. Rosenalis will win it if they didn't celebrate too hard after the football win. Mind you, Ballacolla are good enough to give them a game of it, though their backs are suspect when being run at. Their good forwards will hardly make up the difference, so I expect Rosenalis to win by six or so.

I'd fancy Slieve Bloom in the junior final.

Laoise away to Westmeath, with winners, presumably, playing Kilkenny v Dublin winners.

A bit of a disaster grade lately, and I presume this is the last year of it. I forsee further disaster.

Leix play Offaly at home, and Kilkenny play Westmeath at home.

I think Laoise should be able to beat Offaly, but they should have this year, too, so who knows.

Do you think he'd get a couple of the Camross boys to commit?
I don't think it'll be Rigney.
