After seeong some highlights durin the league and the man in action i was in awe of cassidy.

jesus he is a beast and more football in him than i thought.

JD is a cert. any of the galway lads? my mate was ravin about nicky joyce after we played the tribesmen in the league.

its a tough aul job pickin a team when the sunday sport load of me hole shows f all of f all games!!

is it a new low when roe is on about players not playing this year because if they dont make the leinster final they might end up in tommy murphy!

thats a serious attitude, imagine players not playing already admitting defeat before the season even starts!!

terrible stupidity coming from a manager, just shut up and play.

i have to laugh at all this as breheny pointed this was all voted in by county delegates and only now when the shit hits the fan and teams realise the story there is whingin.

what do the offaly boys thinks of waht roe said today, surely this must be filtering to the players

Jesus just took a geeze at the KE forum to amuse myself.
we were the better team on the day seemingly even though donegal ate us alive in the middle and lost their top marksman early on.

donegal totally took their foot off the pedal which must be a worry but overall they were by far the best team on show in croker yesterday.

cassidy was huge and seeney made some impact. kildare made some basic and ridiculous errors, no one seems to demand the ball.

Just a thought here but i reckon our full back Lyons (who is ot even a fullback!) will have a good tussle with Devenney.
Lyon ha trouble with the big high ball but that wont b peggd into him against Devenney so I think it will be a good tussle.

Really lookin forward to the match altho Id say Kildare will lose. Should be a good game.

the gaa published an extensive club manual last year and all clubs in the country must consult this before anything happens.

there are strict procedures getting these grants so as to ensure clubs aren't operating beyond their means. someone should send a few copies to the eircom leaugue lads.

as is the basic ethos of gaa also the volunteer is hugely important which is missing in the soccer. christ where are all the fans when shels really need them.

lads i know the sunday sport thing has been brought up but it is a joke the way Div 1B is neglected. there have been some tight bames that have gone to the wire.

should be a good weekend for ball anyway if the weather stays like this. how are the laois lads goin to stop JD.

he was fairly modest in the indo today sayin "some lads half kill themselves and give me the ball to tap over from 20 yards".
in all fairness the scores he gets are not tap overs. even the frees are difficult ones he got against louth plus he dispossessed a defender and got another of his own making.

laois neednt worry bout our FF line who have as much movement as the M50 toll bridge!

just an aside but my bro has a huge problem in the way the fai talk of the numbers particiaptin in soccer in the country.
ssemingly they include the likes of me with no club affiliations playing five a side on a wednesday evening.

800k would be about right though, maybe even more now considering the growth of the ladies codes.

General discussion / Re: Smoking Ban
April 02, 2007, 05:31:39 PM
it is a very good thing i have to say. a couple of my mates quit as a result of not being arsed going outside.

i was over in brussels there last year and after getting used to the ban it was terrible to have the yes cut out of my head with smoke wafting everywhere.
it wont be bad for pubs as people go there for the craic and drink not to smoke.

there is a slight downside though as if im ever out in a majority smokers group you end up heving the craic stuttered as they go out and have do their impressions of choo choo trains.

Bit of a dirty dig there Lynchboy. There were only about two lads who could have been swayed and the lad who had to stay out of football for a year to join us is now getting back in the groove and i really dont think that shite went on to the extent people believe.

we are hardly a superclub and the lads were big enough and bauld enough to make a choice as to what would be better in terms of develpment as a footballer. look at the last 2 minor teams, its a good mix and lads with known allegiances will not be swayed either way.
#1166
Dubs4sam they say it was the kids choice and maybe the kids want to leave now but thoughts of tranfers dont just pop into 13 and 14 year old heads. it other influences.

you seem to be the only person defending this move. if we let this happen paoching would be rampant. how come these lads never seem to want to step down to a smaller club to 'play with their friends'.
#1167
They may quit because they can't play with their friends!!! now are you telling me these lads have no friends playing with them in athgarvan. the parenst are fuckin tossers and that arguement is null and void.

then they may go to play rugby...when? so they will be playing nothing in the off season ie the GAA season.

these lads are gossurs and when you were that age did you really even think about transferring clubs. ideas like this are planted without doubt. when we were all U14 just playing was great.

its all the parents who obviously have no real love for athgarvan. these lads could help the team become a force if they are so good and help the club.
i have huge respect for the likes of derek mccormack who is putting ballykelly on the map.

i am disgusted at the usual sound cliona foley for printing this poo.

ah yes romeo we have special people who shout for kildare.
i nearly dread goin to some league matches to be honest the poo ya have to listen to.

glen ryan will always cast a shadow over kildare until they find a proper replacement. hogarty is a good player but not at 6.
id still try glavin there as he played what was in essence a centre half backs role for moorefield all year and he seems to have matured alot as a player. and i woudlnt be his biggest fan

id say flangan will get moved into the edge of the box as the game moves on. jesus he is still pure class, even with dodgy ankles!
to be honest if he moves into FF at any stage he will clean up.

should be a good match and for what its worth rainbow desrves any hostile reception, that was terrible that day.

Well the fact that any forwrd thinking and younger manager has adopted a total new style of training regime means that yes it is.

something is really wrong when there are lads as young as 20 whose knees are fucked and hamstrings total dodgey.

at my club we havent done a single lap all year and we stretch like f**k and get the rest between games. it has been around but its just coming into the media now but as i said those who took it seriously have already made changes.

its still up to the manager in terms of respecting players. when rooney arrived you didnt see him playing for 3 england teams and his club. the managers can be greedy with prodigous talent and need to learn to respect it more.

I dont know what is wrong with this division cause there is something up if we are on top!! :o

At the Derry and louth matches both teams kicked away after wide. louth coud have had three goals too.

the worst thing is some Kildare fans are looking at the table and thinking "oh we're flyin". we are making U14 mistakes and our entire FF line don't ever make a run.

If i was from Louth or Derry i wouldnt worry too much. Derry didnt have Bradley that day either.
That would be us without Doyle, and i can tell ya we are screwed withou him.
