The boul Audie Hamilton from Dungannon.

Played rugby with Audie in New York. He was a big fellow alright and a little wild if I recall, but then again half that New York Irish rugby team were nuts anyway, great times.

Jezuz lads what have the Donegal players ever done too youse??   :-\

Tony and Manus Boyle were very handy forwards and McEniff was supposed to be handy back in the 70's.

in my opinion Seinfeild was the most awfull unfunny piece of rubbish on tele.

I second that

Now I know watching a bunch of angsty Jewish people for half an hour isn't everyone's cup of tea but come on.......... unfunny? You have to be kidding me. Classic example of a typical Seinfeld storyline (which I think is from the very first episode): Jerry has issues about a shirt he bought where the second button was too high up to keep buttoned and the next button down was too low down. Genius. I'm putting you on my list of enemies.....

Maybe its because I have lived in the U.S a while that I seem to get the humour in Seinfeld. Americans though just dont seem to get Irish or English humour at all, it goes way over their heads. I was watching an episode of Little Britain with a few American friends once, the wife and I were splitting our sides laughing they just sat there with a confused look on their faces.

Rough town when I was there to, the travellers would take over the handball alley in Jarlaths once the evenings got long during the spring. The only student that could beat them at handball was Micheal Colman the former galway hurler. The nicknames that the travellers had were hilarious, one if I remember correctly was called Moses, he lived for the Jarlaths V Tuam CBS game every year. He supported CBS for some unknown reason even though he probabily never set foot in the place. There was always a bit of aggro between the two schools. The town was always a rough spot though.

Love the Saw Doctors, we do stick on the album on the days we get to Croke Park on the way, and if we win we play it on the way back!! Pity we wont get a chance this year. :(

Favourite songs would be 'The Green and Red of Mayo' , 'Galway and Mayo' and 'Hey Wrap'.

The Green & Red of Mayo, Galway & Mayo, Hey Wrap, To Win Just Once & Clare Island are my favourates

Next in line would be N17 & Joyce Ceile Country Band.

Other great ones Tommy K, I used to lover, Sing a powerfull song, the one about going back to Tuam & the one about the Suger town are all great (lived in Tuam for my sins for a few years)

Jazus how could I forget the Wan about the Macnas Parade & the great reference to where I spent all first year in college in Galway, "the Warrick"

Fishead Sam, did you go to Jarlaths?

No went to the Presentation Convent National School for the first few years when it was mixed, went to secondary in St.Geralds in Castlebar

I was the only Mayoman in the village  :D

Did my last two years of secondry in Jarlaths. Long before the Sawdoctors were on the road. Everytime I go through that town I cant wait to get out of there. The locals were not to fond of the Jarlaths boys at the time. Good GAA area though.

The lovely girls contest was very funny.

As for American comedys I thought MASH, Cheers and Seinfeld were all funny but Friends was shite never thought it was funny. Rescue Me has its funny moments also, dont know if you would class it as a comedy though.

These was a traveller from Claremorris that was sentenced to play football with the local GAA team a few years back. The judge called him  mallet head and later had to apolgise to him for the slur on his good name. I wonder did he ever show up and do his sentence?

Ya they are great, used to share a house in NYC with one of the orignal members back in the mid eighties before they were formed. He actually bought a bass guitar while in New York and tried to smuggle it in through custums but got caught and had to pay the tax on it. Sound man, he has left the band since.

Funny how everyone is happy for his win even though he is a Dub!!  He did a great interview on RTE radio...very emotional. The American commentators seemed to be disappointed with Sergio losing, went as quick as possible to Indy car racing, missed half of Harringtons acceptance speech. If Sergio or Tiger had won it would be on for another hour.

He seems like a likable fellow, very down to earth
