American sports get a lot of things right and one of them is their willingness to suspend players facing charges.. like a lot of other sports, rugby is totally backwards and will only reach a similar point in its evolution the decades to come.

They are facing charges.

They have been suspended.

They have been facing investigation for months.

No they haven't.

As happens in our jurisdiction, the matter is investigated by the PSNI who hand it over to the PPS for a decision on prosecution. After a considerable period of time, the PPS will decide that charges should be made. At this stage, the case can move to the courts where it can hang around for a long time.  The PPS will use this media publicity to bring out witnesses or even others to make similar claims to help them build a case.

Expect this to run and run with the PPS seeking adjournment after adjournment while feeding the media.. as seen with some people on this thread the presumption of innocence is soon eroded if ever there given the high profile of the accused and it doesn't take long for any jury to be poisoned be the court case begins.

Cheers lads, checked out their site there and quite a few options. Looking to do a few walls and ceilings in a renovation so a mixture of newly plastered walls (some with dry lining some without) and old walls that have already been painted. Any particular types of paint I should look for, just going to do everywhere white for now.

Agree with above and take care use only the trade paint. It is now the best available. Go to your nearest Johnstone's Trade Centre. The staff are really helpful.

Do not buy from Homebase, B&Q, etc as their Johnstones paint is not the same as from the Trade Centres.

For the new plaster use the standard white Matt emulsion (trade off course), add one third water to the pure paint to prime the walls. It will be quite thin and a bit difficult to use due to spray from roller bot an excellent sealer for such hot walls. Don't waste money on special primer.

On old walls and ceiling use Matt emulsion as a base coat with no dilution.  This will kill ant old colours and provide excellent base for next coats.  Two coats of Matt on the ceiling with no dilution.

For the walls you can have almost any colour from the Dulux card as well as Johnstones own card. So plenty of choice. They will mix it for you in the shop.

The choice of finish is your own.  I have used the Matt on room walls where there is minimal traffic as it can be easily marked. Used the tough Matt on a staircase as it is still Matt to hide bumps in the plaster but scrubable and it is.  Used Vinyl eegshell in bathroom and part of a staircase for hard finish and wipeable. Used soft sheen on room walls but don't like it however it has finish some like and can be gently wiped clean.

Johnstones prices are good for trade paint but will appear dearer to store paint which is far inferior.

I haven't seen Donegal as bad in a championship game since that All Ireland quarter defeat  to Mayo in 2013.
Mayo 4-17 Donegal 1-10 was the result of that game. Donegal bounced back to back to reach the 2014 All Ireland final after that. This Donegal group are in deep transition now and won't be bouncing back anytime soon.

Gallagher is not Jim McGuinness, just a man on the sideline who spits a lot of water and has no clue what do!

On this day, 21 July 1972, the IRA planted 22 bombs in Belfast, killed 9 people, injured 130 more, some badly mutilated. 77 injured were women and children. Chaos was exacerbated by numerous hoax warnings as the bombs exploded in a 75 minute period. IRA blamed security forces for the death toll and claimed is was a commercial target even though carried out on a Friday afternoon.

Follow this link to gain a sense of the horror and carnage.

The IRA OC, Brendan Hughes, and later the IRA issued apologies claiming they never intended to kill anyone. Much the same language as the recent self confessed Birmingham bomber.

Is there any point in Down turning up? Sure most of their support had left the last game in Clones with over ten minutes to go. This is surely a condemnation of their own team when so many supporters walk away so early in the game and is an insult to the players. The players dropped their heads one one man got a black card and largely admitted defeat as a certainty.

Sky kicks RTE's ass in terms of coverage. They've better commentators/better analysts and an all round better format. If it was transported lock stock across to RTE it would be an infinite improvement.

The only issue with Sky is the fact that their viewership is practically non existent!

They do have one viewer, a Mr Richard Clerkin.

Not the draw I would have preferred but looking forward to it. Will it be Croke Park

The talk is it'll be a double header in Crok Park but CCCC will confirm this later today

Armagh v Kildare more likely in Breffini Park as Croke Park pitch didn't recover well from Coldplay and will have to deal with U2 this weekend.  Jim Gavin complained that a fifth of the pitch had to be replaced for yesterday's game after the last concert and the ground was particularly hard and slippery.

Are these neutral venues?

Yes, TBC later today by CCCC. Double header in Croke Pk is the talk

It will take more than a week for the pitch to recover after U2 next weekend.  Especially given the complaints by Jim Gavin yesterday.

Quare comfortable to be pontificating in the South eh?
Except some of us live in N.Ireland and know exactly what is being done to us and not in Kilkenny just across from their homeland in Wales.

Sinn Féin did what was necessary for the people in general, not for itself.
Yeah, hand over welfare reform to the Tories to hid behind their actions and then blame them for the result.

Even now, all parties are continually negotiating on a return to power sharing because the alternative is not great. Yes, there are issues with the DUP, yes now is finally time to play hard ball but I still dont see anyone backing away from negotiations.
What negotiations, there haven't been any serious negotiations, just calls from Adams for Mrs May to come over and sort out the problems.  Jobs are being lost, parents are losing uniform grants, construction firms going to the wall, etc after SF collapsed Assembly over RHI that it has forgotten and for an ILA that puts no bread on the table for the poorest families.

And if someone can come up with a single example why I should vote for the Kim Jong Un Appreciation Society I'll be interested.
Surprising how much the great leader and his family have in common with SF marxist ideology, economics, etc.

Let's be absolutely honest about things, any Irish person who doesn't back a 32 county republic is a traitor and there is only one party which wants to see that happen.
So, what is your solution to a country where, under your definition, less than 20% of the electorate are traitors.

Sinn Féin blocked the Tory welfare bill so it's absolutely false that they have toed the Conservative line at every point.

Wrong, SF and DUP worked against all others in Assembly to vote that welfare should be handed back to Tories in UK parliament to implement reforms.

Not wrong, that came after a period of crisis to get the peace process back up and running.

Initially, Sinn Féin blocked it:

http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-northern-ireland-31798766

Sinn Féin were backed into a corner where to do other than hand back welfare powers to London would have meant key elements of the peace process failed:

http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-northern-ireland-34853112

So, even as naive as you are in believing this nonsense you have written above, surely you would have worked out from your own logic as stated above that SF will do whatever is necessary for it's own good when "backed into a corner', even to submit the poorest in society in the North to the will of the Tories in their push for austerity for the weakest.  Anything to prevent SF appearing to the public and politicians in the 26 counties as being total hypocrites by implementing austerity, even by proxy, in the North while lambasting any government in the Republic that implemented its own cuts at the behest of the EU bankers.

So, what did you say above about SF only working for the good of the country and not party interests?
