That was some some game.

Sky Sports were impressed.
"Man of the match: Richard Dunne. Slipped straight into leadership duties with aplomb, cleared everything thrown at him. Excellent."

Considering about 1/2 the Villa fans on a few of their messageboards were convinced they had signed a donkey, it's a good start for Dunne.
He had a below average game for Ireland in Cyprus, probably as I suspected, down to some hangover trauma from his move to a new club.

I just took the scene - Rawls in the background at a Gay bar- at face value, a bit of Wire humour.

Watched what I could from a Macedonian tv stream.
It looked like Dunne was on the left of a MON 3 man central defense.
Looked like he did very well for his first game.
What did the Villa fans think?

After a quick glance at the new threads, I thought I'd find GDA in here.

I just saw that youtube clip.

No transparency at all, no witness, no independent photograph of the balls selected and you can't trust the program set up, at all.

Wisdom of the crowd to predict lottery nrs. ???
Worth examination, if there was the important element of transparency.
More like the the gullibility of the crowd believing that it was possible to predict, makes it appear real.

I can't stand Chris de Burgh.

I'll give it a miss.

Jaysus, I could have sworn i saw a documentary about Sonny Knowles and the crooner had passed away.
But I have crossed wires with another documentary shown at the same time about Brendan O'Brien.

God bless your power Sonny.

Typical responses from whiney music critic lovers ::)

At least Chris's reply made me smile,    :D

Raving loon? You mean Hyde Park speakers corner type raving loon?

He's a cabaret artist, like Sonny Knowles rip.
His reply is more in line with what passes for South Dublin sophistication, closing off with an appropriate schoolyard jibe.

Maybe the warbler should pen a ballad about it, call it 'Crawstruck in Times'.

Possibly, an instability caused after he enthusiastically stamped on that low flying wasp.

Ah shite, I thought you were going to tell us he'd changed career (to a knife critic).

???
Then the title would have been
Chris de Burgh - knives critic

Attending a Chris de Burgh concert would not be a part of my universe but I had to admire the man's style of retort to another poncy Irish Times review of his recent Gaiety gig.

The Barksdale crew became the ODCs
Everybody loves the ODC when you got Stanfield's breed on the other side

I´m surprised that a supporter of a club would not wish a club player success in international representation.

I can't say it makes any difference at all to my life what England do in football. I'm more curious to see how their coach gets the best out the team and probably would be very curious to see how they cope at the WC.
International football only really takes shape at a Finals tournament.
Generally a neutral roots for underdogs or is partial towards a style of football.
A team like Germany would not traditionally attract the neutrals, nevertheless  I find their regular supporters to be humourously self depreciating and not reflective of the stereotypical image.
