lots of thoughts  ;D ;D,
but not sure if they are suitable for those viewers of a more innocent nature

I can see where Eoin Kelly is coming from but for God's sake some of his comments are like those of a spoiled child who doesn't get his way. I was waiting for him to say that it was making it too difficult for him to kiss his jersey with the visor on !!

This new rule is not something that happened over night and everyone knew well in advance that it was coming in.
You only need to look at the eye surgeon reports that the GAA used when introducing the rule to understand the necessity of such a rule.

Claiming that it gets too hot in the summer (in Irish climate !!)to wear a helmet is a weak argument. Soccer players are forced to wear shin-guards regardless of weather, rugby players now all wear protective padding by choice (including in sun-soaked south of France). Not to mention what American footballers wear (albeit they generally only play in 2-15 second spurts).

The compromise on visibility is I agree going to be a difficult conversion for players, but if the under-21 goal keepers can manage them then everyone else will have to follow suit.

Eoin, you'll just have to grin and bear it, wear it all the time at every training session, until it is as familiar as wearing a jersey

Curran is definately right, the sooner Clare sort out their affairs the better.

But it's a bit cheeky for a Cork man to give advice on how to settle disputes between players/managers/county boards IMO

Don't think Mike Mac has what it takes to be senior inter-county manager.

But to be fair, these players can't simply turn around and blame the manager for lack of success given that the same players have consistanly failed to deliver any sort of worthwhile performance over the last few years.

GAA Discussion / Re: Sat. night B4 All Ireland Final

Can't remember name of the bar, but it was a Thursday night at 10:30 in some pub in temple bar and was charged 5.50 for a guinness & after 11:00 it went up to 6.10 for a pint of the black stuff.

Crazy stuff, and publicans wonder why young people tank up on a few tinnies before heading out anymore

Cork v Waterford Munster final in 2004.
End to end stuff, with top class scores from both teams.

Limerick v Clare in 96 is another one that's up there. Completely different to above game in that there were far less scores even though the day was hotter. Just the sheer physicality and closeness of the game.

Limerick always raise their game for Tipp and will probably do a lot better than people expect.
Remember, this bunch of Limerick players have pretty much held their own with Tipp over the past few years.

However, Tipp have just way too much up front for Limerick. Scoring forwards win games, and Tipp have just too many of these for Limerick.
I expect a close hard fought first 50 minutes with Tipp to push on in last quarter to win by 7 or 8 points.

yes, but why was he dropped ??

Cork v Galway
Laois v Limerick

Everyone seems to be saying that Dublin will play the winners of Laois/Limerick and Waterford will play winners of Cork/Galway.

Is this definate cause I didn't see them making the draw for the quarter finals or did I miss something here

Even if Galway manage to win this (which is most definately not guaranteed, and I have a fancy for the Banner in this one), they would have a 50/50 chance of playing Cork in the next round.

It's an open draw with Cork & Laois playing the winners of Wexford/Limerick & Clare/Galway

confirmed for 7:00pm this Saturday in the spacious Cusack Park.

It's live on RTE 2 also

Monaghan v Derry in Clones !!!!

Am looking forward to what new banner the Monaghan lads will have the next day for the Joe show
#118
The boys holding it look like complete mucksavages, so they could be from either county.

But I think I spotted a Monaghan jersey around there.

Took me a few gos to figure out what it was too.

The banner is a picture of an umbrella with "is a tool"

This game itself is brutal stuff, but the banner behind the goals is awful funny.

Surely Spillane will have a comment on the Sunday game about it

impossible to pick one here,

Just for the sheer power -Diarmuid O'Sullivans massive point against Limerick in Pairc Ui Chaoimh (don't know the year)

For pressure -Jamsie O'Connors winning point in '97 All-Ireland final
