All those Corban shows on Netflix tend to have a soap feel to them, different level compared from the top BBC or HBO shows.

The Tourist turned out decent enough, just some stupid parts that were completely unnecessary, i.e. the basement stuff with the wee leprechaun - no need for it at all and made a bit of a joke of the thing. Really need to start using only northern actors for northern roles too. The ma's accent was terrible, far worse than Lisa Dwans in Bloodlands.

Quote from: trueblue1234 on January 05, 2024, 11:32:42 PMWatched the first half of Killers of the flower moon. Underwhelmed to say the least. Does it get better in the 2nd half or more of the same? Hate not finishing a movie, but not sure I want to revisit.

Pretty consistent pace throughout. Average enough film that I was expecting more from given the hype and actors/director involved.

Watched Vigil, found it to be OK but hard to like the Scottish doll and Karen McDonald, the whole lesbian push was unnecessary and irritating. Seemed more like an ITV production than a BBC one.

On too late for me last night but definitely a re-watcher.

Silence of the Lambs, Red Dragon or Manhunter never fail to disappoint.

Watched Crimson Tide the other night for first time in years. Still brilliant.

Watched Informer, very good 6 parter from BBC.

Never saw anything as bad as the girl cast as Dornans love interest in The Tourist, completely taking the hand.

I liked Saltburn too, expected it to be crap. The actor playing the main character has a strange, creepy look to him that was perfect for this character. Still, some weird scenes in it.

Quote from: Jeepers Creepers on December 31, 2023, 02:30:15 PMDon't underestimate the loss of a fully fit Martinez. He's that player who can drive a team even from Centre half. Most of that starting lineup last night should the subs bench. A good defensive midfielder could have possibly prevented those goals but last night Utd were chronic. ETH isn't doing himself any favours but what could anew mange do with that squad ?? It would be Groundhog Day. Again.

Thing is though, ETH has brought in a lot of crap since he joined.

Slow Horses is brilliant. Just want more episodes and for each one to be 2 hours long.

In your opinion.

Nah, it was crap. The story didn't have a conclusive end.

Joshua looked sharp tonight, looked like the old Joshua, no hesitation and was attacking with speed and power. His movement was very good too and he threw the straight right to the body often too. Davison seems to be a very good coach, maybe he has helped Joshua get over his demons.
