i like the one from outside croker - shows what it would have been like for any stragglers who got steaming in Quinn's and missed the match  :D

Snow Patrol, but can't remember which song

Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars

Think the music at the very start was enya

Really enjoyed the two teams running out to music - something that could be done easily for every big game at croker easily enough!

id say one of the best penatlys i ever seen hit in the GAA would have been trevor giles (think but may be wrong it was the 1999 AI Final)

It was pure class.

my bet sailed up shite creek last night  :(

Mc Williams in the Irish news wasnt far way:

he had said

Man City
West Ham
Arsenal (Draw)
Liverpool (Draw)

And then Blackburn let him down (though he had said to spilt them up (i.e keep the two draws together and keep the 3 home wins together)

No good talking about it now right enough.... ::)

Thinking of sticking a wee fiver on:

Chelsea
Arsenal
Man City
Liverpool
Cardiff
West Ham - Hull (Draw)
Blacburn

And maybe a quid on Keane/Ireland/Santa Cruz/Terry to be first Goalscrorers for a bita craic

Think Ireland could be in with a chance this year - if we catch France 'on the hop' at croker unlike that agonising defeat in 2007 could give some momentum leading in to the rest of the games.

I'm the eternal optimist that this team will deliver  :P

Vital to win the first game against France. If they do they have Italy next and will get some momentum behind them before facing England at home. Beat France and you can easily see them winning their first three games and having a shot at the championship.

Lose to France at CP and it could all go pear shaped very quickly.

I agree GalwayBay - and France are prone to sometimes not starting the tournament well - i recall them losing to a poor scottish side once or twice in the first game - hopefully Ireland can turn them over anyway - was gutting the way they lost out to France at croker the last time - hopefully that will spur them on!

Did any other Board members make it to the Countdown to Croker Chat Show in Cookstown on Friday night?  I have to congratulate Edendork G.A.C. for staging what was a hugely successful and enjoyable event.  It was very well organised and their panel of guests came up trumps for them.  The questions were still coming from the floor well after 12.30am but no one seemed to mind as Mark Sidebottom and the panel kept everyone interested with some excellent discussion and worthy topics.

Brolly was in supreme form once again but Charlie Redmond, Paddy Russell and Mattie McGleenan all contributed wisely to the debates and provided their own form of entertainment.  They were joined in the first half of the night by Sean Cavanagh, who made a guest appearance, while 'Sid' Corr was also called to speak about that infamous '95 All-Ireland Final.  I wouldn't be Mark Sidebottom's biggest fan but he did a brilliant job as compere for this event.

I suppose some of the things that I will remember most about the night were: Joe Brolly getting down on his knees in reverence to Sean Cavanagh; the friendly exchange between the pair when discussing the thorny topic of the GPA; Paddy Russell publicly declaring that he would have quit refereeing the day after the 95 All-Ireland Final had it not been for Ciaran Corr; Mark Sidebottom's defence of the BBC coverage of gaelic games; Charlie Redmond revealing that the Dublin players had to write an essay on their performances after some of their big championship games in Croker; and Mattie McGleenan blowing kisses at one stage in the direction of thon wee gobshite from Derry!

By the way, I think the greyhound (who also made a star appearance) raised a few thousand for Edendork in the auction!

Any chance you could elaborate a wee bit more on what i have put in bold RHF?  Cheers  :)

GAA Discussion / Sunday Tribune Article

Just wondering did anyone read the Article by Kieran Shannon in yesterdays Sunday Tribune?  It was realted to Tony Donnelly - Mickey Harte gets a lot of Credit throughout the media and rightly so but i think this Artcile showed that Tony (and indeed Fergal McCann) plays a vital role in the whole Tyrone setup and hopefully the trio can bring Tyrone to back-to-back glory!!
