Cancelled or postponed?

Laverty cup not a county thing...

Postponed because Creggan have a meaningless league game tomorrow night against Cargin. These dates have been known to a long time now. Creggan have obviously boys away and didn't want to play it.

Tonight's Laverty Cup final has been cancelled on the morning of the match. What a farce of a county.

Defending referees? I'll hold ya to that ;D

But sure Cargin are always to blame......

Definitely Cargin's fault. We went looking for someone to blame and found Cargin's name.

Anyone doing Lap the Lough?

Thinking of doing it this year but it's only 4 weeks away this weekend so I've left it late to start training. Typical cycle for me would be 30-60km. Never done more than 70km at a time which is just under half the distance but I'm going to train like a dog this month to get up to speed.

It's as handy an 80miles as you'll find so if you pace it you'll be grand. There's only 1 or 2 hills in it that would be worth talking about.

Seen Oppenheimer at the weekend, an absolute masterclass in filmmaking. Also seen mission impossible, very good blockbuster. First time in years I've been able to go see two actually good movies in the cinema in the one weekend.

I thought Oppenheimer was decent but too long. Wouldn't be saying the it's one of the best films I've ever seen. Cillian Murphy was superb though.

How can a pro golfer and multiple major winner be so bad at putting...... should rename him happy mcilroy.

Is there not a way to get a putting coach in? Maybe I don't know enough.

It's astonishing, probably the best golfer in the world over the last 10 years... but the last year or so has been deja vu...brilliant tee to green and then can't sink the putts unless they are less than 5 ft, especially on par 4's, then he tries too hard/takes risks on the par 5's to get there in 2 and usually mishits a shot and ends up with par

Apart from the best golfer in the world bit, that sounds exactly like my golf game at the minute.

Anybody doing hyrox in Dublin?

https://hyrox.com/

Might be jumping in with a fella for the team competition. Have a friend's wedding the night before though so it'll be a disaster. It's very expensive all the same!!

Depends who Rossa get playing for them but they could win a few games. Few very handy players in their ranks too!

With the new format this year I think it's been a very strange season so far with no team showing real good form.
Only Derry and Dublin remain unbeaten but with the Dubs having only drawn with the only Div 1 team they've met.

So many teams seem capable of beating each other as we've seen in the group stages and there has been an element of trying to get to the quarter finals with as little effort as possible or not showing too much of your hand.
A lot of talk about peaking at the right time, not coming in undercooked and can a team turn it on when needed.
Kerry have been getting to quarters and semis for years trying to peak for August football and Tyrone would appear to be trying to do the same this year with some very poor performances here and there.

I suppose Kerry will not be as naive as they were in 2021 where they seemed to be unprepared (again) for what Tyrone would throw at them. Until that game Kerry were scoring goals for fun whereas Tyrone couldn't buy a goal. That all changed that day.

We may have lost McKenna but we've gained two Canavans and Mattie seems to be back to his old self. So our forward line seems a lot more potent although our bench is weak in my eyes which was a huge factor in closing out games in 21.

Clifford is so far ahead of everyone else and if Kerry can find him with good ball he will win marks and score for fun.
I suppose it all comes down to how both teams play on the day but to me Tyrone aren't as bad as many "neutrals" think and maybe Kerry aren't as good as ye think either or at least haven't been so far.

If McKenna had stayed and operated at 11 - Tyrones forward unit would be a scary prospect.

Meyler McKenna Ruairi
Darragh Mattie Dazzler

'DROOLING'

McKenna didn't seem half interested when he was finally settled back home and realised playing for Tyrone wasn't just as nice as the professional lifestyle in the sunny climates. He wasn't a guaranteed starter in the end.

Great effort but poor shooting and composure at times had a big impact. Great season overall and was brilliant seeing our clubmen getting some great coverage on RTE.
Well done Meath and Saffron Voice.
