Anyone know where this will be played?  I think the GAA had already decided that the league final would be in croker this year, that's hardly still the case?

Lookin at the thread title Bogball it would appear that screen has the inside track. Have you got confirmation of that venue screen?
Aye, but I reckoned maybe Screen is spoofing (or educated guessing).

A screen man spoof??? The very suggestion :o :o :o :D

Woops... Caught out completely!!! Nah as far as I know it hasn't been fixed but if the same league final last year was comfortably held in Parnell I don't see any reason why they would change it. We always do well there too so I'd be happy enough with it.

Again someone mentioned Cork and I can't help but think they are the most over rated team in the Country at the minute. They give Kerry a game every year when Kerry are nowhere close to peaking and people think they're good. I can't remember who it was but they said Cork would beat the pick of Ulster teams yet they got a tanking from Monaghan a few weeks ago. Yes they have a few decent U21 teams coming through but you're at least 2 years off seeing that bear fruit imo.

I would suspect Kerry will go all out for this as they seem hell bent on winning everything they can this year and depending on what kind of team we have out will say a lot on the result. If Cassidy continues with the experimenting we will not win but if he goes with our best 15 I think we have a great chance. Not sure what it will be but for me I think this is the first choice 15 for Derry at the minute.

Gillis
McGuckin, McCusker, Lockhart
O'Kane, B. McGoldrick, S. L. McGoldrick
Doherty, Muldoon
Lynn, Murphy, Mullan
Bradley, Bradley, Lynch

E. Bradley and Lynch will alternate between HF and FF with Lynn and Mullan playing the workhorse WHF roles (Personally I think we have better players for the position but Cassidy has generally played these 2 throughout the league and they have fitted into the system well).

Aside from that we still have a strong bench with lads like Diver, Patsy Bradley, Collie Devlin, McCloy, Kielt all there. We have a very strong squad this year!

Can't really believe we've qualified for this pretty much without having a full team in any game of the league but hey we may as well take it. A lot different from last year as Kerry are going much better and we are a lot more focussed on Monaghan but should still be an exciting game and hopefully as enjoyable as last year.

I think Cassidy has been looking for performances from our lads and a good victory over Kerry in an NFL Final would be a good stepping stone to the Monaghan game so I would hope to see pretty much our first 15 out in Parnell Park. Kerry are definitely the form team and O'Connor would seem to have them very hungry this time around to win the big one and beat all comers so I would expect nothing easy in this game!

Jesus that was tough stuff... both on the pitch and having to watch it! Leinster defended extremely well though and should maybe have ahad a couple of tries at a few stages. Munster will be a totally different proposition. I can actually see no way that Leinster will win that one. Their pack will not be able to compete with Munster and Jackman is a complete liability!

I think it was someone on the board who set it up as well. Some Westmeath fella maybe.

I'll try and fins the thread and get back to you.

Just back after the game (and a cupla celebratory scoops). Yeah fantastic performance from the lads as mentioned previously. Kept McCullagh very quiet (He got a goal from play after some cute hoorism from Ricey but his 5 points were all from frees I think).  We were like a completely different team from the one that got beaten by Kilrea at the weekend even though it was the same personnel.

As someone said though it's nice to win but 2 points against the sirs on Tuesday (or Monday there's talk of bringing it forward) is what's important at the minute after starting the league so badly. Great game of football it has to be said played on a superb surface. Benny Murray got man of the match but there were 2 or 3 candidates just as well placed who could have gotten the award... UP THE 'SCREEN!!!!!

Recently worked my way back into a bit of shape there after I done the cruciate this time last year. It was a struggle though as I hadn't really done a pre season training in a few years and with a month of lying around after the op my knee had gone to shite. Basically had to start from scratch. Hit the weights pretty well before Christmas and then my weight rocketed after the festive. Hit the weights again and did 2 decent cardio sessions a week for 6 weeks until club training started and did all of that with the rest of the lads. I found that I was able to keep up with them no probs really and I had a decent diet in me at that time so I lost almost 2 stone in 3 months.

Your main problem as screenmachine says is the match fitness. I was about the same as the majority of the team in training but when it came to playing matches I was completely mowed. I've had about 4 matches since and it's only now that my confidence with regard to match fitness is returning but I reckon I'll need another 3/4 games until I would consider myself in top shape. All the jogging and weights help but you need your body to get used to the scrambling, hits and the stop start nature of games so the more game time you can build in along with your training the better it will work out for you!

Will Hearty be back playing this year again? Was chatting to him a while ago and he wasn't sure I know he could only last a few minutes a game last year.

Terrible goal to concede in a half that Utd dominated >:( Defence has went to f**k after been un-penetratable earlier in the season. A lot to do in Portugal but capable of it if Performance is lifted. Fair play to Porto the are a great attacking side and 'Hulk' is a strong chap :o  All is not lost....

Are you havin a laugh? United were non existent in MF and were exremely lucky to get 2 goals out of absolutely nothing. In truth United deserved to lose this game.

All credit to Porto there are very few teams who go all out attack against Man U but I guess when they are missing the players they are it was the smart thing to do! They were great to watch tonight and their all out attack mentality (Allied with United's makeshift defensive options esp in midfield) made for an entertaining game. Looking forward to next week's serving. After Sunderland put one over on them first though obviously!

£350 for swearing at a cop is a bit much.
Awful excuse though - he was confused!

QuoteHis solicitor said that he was unfamiliar with the Holyland area of Belfast and that, combined with the alcohol he had consumed, caused him to become confused and to behave out of character.

QuoteReally? There is still a year of this decade to go and my count would be Kerry 4 Tyrone 3... but yeah ok Tyrone are because they say so!

Yeah lots of the winning Kerry team of 2000 played in 2008.....  ::)

What's that got to do with anything... the decade would be... hang on... the last 10 years not the 10 years between 2003 and fecking 2013... catch a grip man how blinkered are you?!

No one is taking the league seriously I assure you.  I think you should be more concerned with probably the most undignified league campaign by an AI winner in living memory. You lads should hang your heads in shame.

Seriously Milke this obsession with Tyrone has to stop. I'd say 75% of your posts are Tyrone related, thats not healthy. I know you's have suffered a lot to Tyrone recently and Tyrone are the team of the decade but moaning constantly about Tyrone isnt going to take that away.
