And today was our day.
We had luck on our side today no doubt, with the timing of certain scores and misses, although I hope the blatant square ball isn't done to death.....after all Callaghan took about 142 steps before netting himself.
Where did it all go right for us?
I still can't believe this group of players have reached the AI Final. I had faith in Wee James improving us, but I just thought we lacked the full back line to really go this far. Can't believe it, especially after our second half display against Tyrone.
Coming back down to Earth now (or attempting to), and with the possibility of history weighing heavy on our lads' shoulders regarding a certain stat.......this is the worst Down side to reach an AI final and while Cork are not quite as good as the 91 Meath team, they will be a formidable force to overcome in a few Sunday's time. But I think we will do it.
Hard luck to Kildare. Dermot was obviously a big loss and luck was not on your side, but I'd imagine you will be at the business end for a few years yet, especially with Geezer at the helm.
An Dun Abu.
