GAA Discussion / Kerry begin their PR war.

Double pronged pre-emptive attack.

http://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/gaa/oconnor-congress-must-leave-rules-alone-139374.html

Instead of Jack o.Connor addressing the discipline problems in his squad he managed to
gather together all the top Refs and harange them about all the injustices done to Kerry,
forced them to watch Killian Youngs disallowed goal repeatedly.  ???

This report from the "kerry" examiner and Tony Leen loyal kerry editor of said paper.

Poor Tohill and RTE is getting it again, all for pointing out the obvious.
It seems in Kerry the only crime is telling the truth.
It certainly isn't a crime to poison endangered eagles.  :(

I'm from Cork so I wouldn't know, but there seems to be a few N I posters on here so i'll ask: Is there any sort of movement from the protestant community towards taking part in GAA in the north? Or is still considered taboo? Would catholic GAA people have a problem if a protestant started training with their club?

GAA Discussion / Cork v Galway, 6th march.

Cork team

O'Halloran

Carey Shields Cotter

Kissane Spillane O'Leary

Alan O'Connor Pearse O'Neill

Kerrigan Donnacha O'Connor Patrick Kelly

Goulding Nicolas Murphy Colm O'Neill

Strong cork team, Murphy will be a 3rd midfielder with a 2 man FF line. Or O'Neill will go CF and Kerrigan will go to the corner.
Don't know the Galway team.

Hurling Discussion / Hypocrisy towards Cork hurlers
January 16, 2010, 10:55:33 AM
I see the Cork dispute thread has over 500 pages and its still going, I go back a few months and
find other threads poling peoples opinion, one thread has "Cork Strikers on the wrong side of Jesus"! A lot of posters seem highly worked up in these threads.
So I assumed with 2 fairly similiar disputes ongoing up till recently, that I would find many threads on those disputes, with equally angry posters.

Nope. Just 2 threads, with posters being quite reasonable.

The Clare dispute was almost identical, with almost the same language being used by both sides.
"poor training methods", "a handful of player agitators running the show".
The difference being that Mike Mac had sense enough to know that even if he was in the right,
that if the players don't want you then you cant go on.

The Limerick one is ongoing, but will only start to get nasty as the league approaches which is
also when the Cork dispute took an ugly turn.

So if its outrage about player power and the like, you would expect people to be equally worked
up about these disputes, but theyre not. So I can only assume its something personal against the
Cork players. It was never anything to do with the issues.
