Armagh teams (and now teams with a strong Armagh connection) would appear to suffer more than their fair share of heartbreaking defeats. All of the following games come to mind - has any other county suffered as much?

1992 Armagh minors v Meath (All-Ireland final)
2000 Armagh seniors v Kerry (All-Ireland semi-final)
2005 Armagh seniors v Tyrone (All-Ireland semi-final)
2009 Armagh U21s v Down (Ulster-Final)
2010 Armagh minors v Cork (All-Ireland quarter-final)
2010 McGeeney's Kildare v Down (All-Ireland semi-final)
2011 McGeeney's Kildare v Dublin (Leinster semi-final)
2011 McGeeney's Kildare v Donegal (All-Ireland quarter-final)
2011 Armagh minors v Roscommon (All-Ireland quarter-final)

I'm only referring to county teams that were involved in major championship matches they should have won but somehow ended up losing - teams that made it to many All-Ireland finals and then get repeatedly trounced is a completely different kind of hard luck story.

Can Armagh get revenge for the 1994 defeat by Kerry? Its hard to believe Kerry haven't won an All-Ireland minor since 1994.

Probably the pick of the 4th round qualifier draw

You'd have to fancy Meath to easily beat whoever comes through the replayed Roscommon v Wexford game

I hope Armagh don't feel complacent about this draw.

I was informed by a regular poster (who has now vanished) to the GAA discussion board that if I purchased the program HIDE MY IP for $41.95 I could manually enter an IP address from Ireland and therefore watch GAA matches live via the web on RTE. This is incorrect information (see below for the evidence) so please don't make the same mistake as me. The only benefit to this program was that I could use it to set up an address from the UK therefore I could listen to live radio commentary on BBC Radio Ulster to the Cavan v Armagh game.

You cannot manually enter an IP address into our software. You can manually select from the ones that are provided to you by our Network, the TOR Network or the Open Network system.

Best Regards,

GAA Discussion / Backdoor Qualifier Structure
May 31, 2007, 01:36:11 PM
Does anyone know the precise structure of the backdoor draw?

Assuming Derry beat Antrim and Louth beat Wicklow there will only be 11 teams involved in the 1st round of the backdoor. The winning teams from round 1 are then scheduled to play the 8 losers of the provincial semi-finals in round 2 of the backdoor. How is this going to work?

1. Armagh
2. Cavan
3. Fermanagh
4. Limerick
5. Mayo
6. Kildare
7. Westmeath
8  losers from Louth v Wexford
9. losers of Dublin v Meath
10. losers of Monaghan v Down
11. losers of Longford v Laois

The following teams cannot play in the backdoor games unless they end up being losers in their provincial final.

Antrim | Offaly | Clare | Carlow | London | Tipperary | Waterford | Wicklow
