GAA Discussion / Death @ club
September 26, 2009, 06:48:42 PM
We have a game tomorrow? Ex player who is still involved with club, mother passed away yday, funeral sunday morning at 11.30, same time as our senior game, now the Derry CCCC have said they cannot change the day of the match, only the time, they have agreed to play it at 5.30. however, this clashes with the biggest hurling game in derry - the champ final.

have we no right to get the game cancelled???  CCCC has said that all games must be played at the same day, however round 13 which is tomorrow - 1 game of this round was played las weeks.

any thoughts lads

GAA Discussion / Suspensions
May 08, 2008, 02:04:29 PM
my club recently received a few suspensions in reference to a match a few weeks ago, there was a melee, with spectators etc involved, the ref only sent 1 of the opposing team off, however, we received notification yday that 1 of our players going to get 8 weeks and 3 of the opposing team getting 8weeks, due to the fact that someone from the CCCC was at the match and reported incidents, is this legal, have wee a leg to stand on, surely this is setting a dangerous precendent.

GAA Discussion / Croker
February 26, 2008, 10:44:45 AM
Just read from Hogan Stand, that the St Patricks Day teams, will not get a training session on Croke before the finals, this is a total disgrace, that international rugby n soccer teams, can prance about fror 3-4days before a game and cutt it to pieces, whilst the heart n soul of the gaa cant get on it at all, SHAME.
Brennan stated that its in international rules that opposing teams get run out on pitches.

GAA Discussion / Where does our club stand
February 05, 2008, 04:49:11 PM
Hi, i would like some serious opinions here lads.

Our club is based in the town, an have playing fields in the chapel grounds, which is owned by the parish. Our ground was left to the parish a number of years ago. The ground has been subsequently leased to us for 10 years, an then 25years, we have 11years left on this lease, which we used to secure funding from the lotto for changing rooms. We have recently found out that our lease will not be renewed in 11years time, due to the fact that certain personell within the parish want to sell the land for development. Has anyone came across a scenario like this before, as i would like to know how we stand.

Cheers
