GAA Discussion / Oisin Mc Conville
June 05, 2016, 10:11:18 AM
On player opt outs,in his newspaper column to day. Read this word for word extract carefully and absorb.

"While players will proffer various reasons-or perhaps none- for their departure, there is generally one reservation that is left unspoken. And this is that they feel their county has little or no chance of success"

In other words life choices etc, my arse. I rest my case.

Yes,all you deluded United Irelanders,Heather Humphries,Free State Minister for Culture and Tourism was right by Arlene's side today as the so called Prince Of Wales visited the birthplace of the Orange Order at Loughgall today!

A United Ireland is just round the corner still.

:(. Is it just me or has this become an epidemic.PSNI arrested 5 members of the same North Dublin Family (Ironically the surname is Cash!) the other day in Tandragee,Co Armagh after a number of houses were burgled in Newry,Markethill, and even as far up as my home town,Portadown.Soon be we'll be wary if we see a freestate registered vehicle.

General discussion / 1916?
April 24, 2016, 09:17:33 PM
Well I for one am now totally confused. The commemorations seem to be going on for a month and I'm none the wiser as to the following:

1.Is modern Ireland officially  celebrating the leaders of the rising or commemorating them in  a
   Revisionist way
that suggests we'd all have been better off if they never existed?

2. Has the violence been understated because official Ireland does not want to give modern Sinn Fein
    Any leeway or justification?

3 Have the commemorations been carefully choreographed not to offend the British in any way lest
They detrimentally affect the Brexit poll?

4. What was the point of it all and did the government feel they had to simply go through the motions,
Because of the year that's in it,and are now secretly glad the whole damn thing is over?

The Free State hasn't got a government to fawn all over her.

GAA Discussion / Tyrone GAA in disarray.
April 07, 2016, 07:10:19 AM
In the space of twelve days, the senior team has struggled to gain draws with both Armagh and Fermanagh, and last night their U21s relinquished their Ulster and All Ireland U21 titles.Looks like a Chelsea like implosion is well underway

GAA Discussion / Crossmaglen
March 14, 2016, 07:28:39 PM
Crossmaglen Rangers have consented to be part of this BBC NI series. True North? Not North against our will,or until our day comes?

I know this should probably go under the Congress thread, but a strong autocratic leader, who maybe isn't always conventional (no pun intended), but who can drive through real change and get things done, is in my opinion what the GAA needs

Excluding SF,and assuming you could vote? Personally I don't see any material difference between any of them and they all look as nondescript as ours at Stormont.
