General discussion / Internet bullying
December 02, 2007, 11:32:43 AM
If you read the "f*cking insane" thread I beleive that snowed under is orchestrating a vicious campaign of internet bullying towards me.
Every post is replied to with and insult or slur on my personal life.
I'd be interested to hear who agrees or disagrees.
Yes I could ignore it, but thats not the point.
Am I overeacting?
Maybe a proper definition of internet bullying would be helpful.
I have no doubt the mods will just tell us both to stop bickering, but this is more than bickering from his side.
I just thought I should post this in case I get banned for this thread.
Note I am not saying anything insulting about the guy, but this persistant abuse is getting out of hand.

Its easy for him to do this online and I have no doubt he would dare say the things he does to my face, but its getting really tiresome as I am sure it is for most people who read threads he gets insulting on.

Previously the same guy pestered me so much that I took a break from the site for a few months.
I enjoy this site, and dont want to be put in the position of either staying away or being abused every time I log on.

Anyway rant over, and no doubt this will be replied to with further insults from the same guy.

General discussion / favourite christmas songs
November 26, 2007, 09:57:35 PM
To balance out the humbug thread about least favourite songs!

I love in dulce jubilo by yer man, Mike Oldfield.

I'll leave this open for a day or so for suggestions then start a poll based on the suggestions.

General discussion / Big flat screen tvs
November 26, 2007, 10:04:12 AM
I'm looking to buy a flat screen, wall mountable tv. About 50 inch.
Saw a philips plasma screen, 50 inch for euro1500 in Harvey N & DID, haggled down to euro1400.

Is this a decent price or should I be looking elsewhere?

I'm up north quite a bit with work so any suggestions for there are welcome.

GAA Discussion / Is this slanderous?
October 18, 2007, 01:30:20 PM
I understand there are people from soccer / GAA / Rugby circles who hate the other sports, but when slagging the other side off, whats too far?

I saw this on a FAI Eircom premier division clubs website (I wont name them) and it was replied by "brilliant" and "true" etc.
Is this too far?

I wouldnt be so cheeky as to put an add with the details up here, the less of that sort of rubbish on here the better.
But just to say I've started my own, biz.
If anyone is interested in a van courier service covering Dublin, Meath, Louth, Monaghan & Cavan, or alternatively an international freight forwarding service, send me a pm and I'll give you the contact details.

August 31, 2007, 12:42:08 PM
Folks, I have windows mail on the laptop, trying to set up a signature which also shows the new company logo.
I have the text set but not sure how to get the picture in there.
Does anyone have windows mail or know how to do this?

GAA Discussion / Anti Dubs feeling on the board
August 27, 2007, 01:18:24 PM
Lads, I understand why most of ye are happy and we must accept our slaggings, but some of this crap is close to slanderous.

This was posted on another thread regarding last years Mayo game...

"And then you went and hit the Mayo female nutritionist on the head and knocked her out - I suppose in Pillar's mind, she was a " legitimate target " as well."

how far is too far lads?

General discussion / Northern related threads
August 08, 2007, 03:18:00 PM
I'm talking Windsor Park, Darren Graham, One night in November etc etc.
While each topic deserves discussion, the repeated threads and 15-20 pages of the same old shite spouted from both sides are getting very very tedious to me.
What do you think?

Its been pointed out to me on another thread that most of the country think Dublin are going to win, this statement surprised me.
Who do you think will do it?

Cant help noticing things seem to get very quiet around here around 4pm.
Is this when people realize they have pissed away too much time on here and scramble to finish their work before 5?  :)

Just out of interest, I have been given out to here before for questioning the motives of certain posters.
To clarify, I do not think ANY poster here should be banned, thats not what I am asking, merely trying to understand why some people spend so much time on here when they have a clear dislike of the GAA.
I have asked the same question about EG and Sammy previously, but to their credit, they will at least debate intelligently and concede certain points without feeling the need to point out faults on "our" side in response.

But I cant help notice this fella has a real bitter streak and relishes causing trouble.
The reason I started this poll is to establish if its just me that thinks this.

Question, is there set time frames of notice you need to give in a job based on the time you have worked there, or is this dependant on your employment terms?
