General discussion / Hatton v Mayweather December 8th
November 30, 2007, 01:28:16 PM
I couldnt find the last thread on this so I'll start a new one.
The fight is coming up now and I have to say i'll be all out rootin for Hatton, he seems like a really sound bloke with an awsome talent and fierce dedication. However I think Hatton will have to knock Mayweather out if he is going to win as Mayweather is the better all round boxer. Cant wait for it, its gonna be some fight.
Mayweather 4/9
Hatton 7/4

General discussion / Skiing
September 05, 2007, 05:26:34 PM
Im looking for recommendations for places to go skiing. It would be a young group going so nightlife would be important, im organising it though, and the most important thing for me are good slopes and guaranteed snow. One lad I was talking to said he heard Bulgaria was excellent. I went to Lilliehammer in Norway with the school years ago which had great slopes but was too expensive. Any recommendations?

Finally this show has delivered on its potential. Absolutely hilarious episode. Ronan Keating made up as a scouser.
Very funny when he was robbing all the sweets from the sweet factory and then goes up and buys one, only to stuff his face again after paying.
Priceless when Mario Rosenstock was taking the piss out of him, and Mario's face when the scouser did an "impression" of keating.

Next week it is Ken Doherty, should be good.

There is always some team that seems to punch above its weight in the championship, who will it be this year?
Possibilities:
Louth, Westmeath, Monaghan, Clare?

GAA Discussion / Meath v Kildare U21
March 05, 2007, 11:39:44 AM
Cant find a report of the game anywhere, anyone at it? Sounded like a cracker on the radio. Meath were 6 points down at one stage, 4 down at half time, draw at full time and after the extra time the final score was
Meath 3.13, Kildare 1.15.

GAA Discussion / Daylight or lights
December 19, 2006, 03:38:20 PM
Which do ye prefer? It is easier to see and judge the ball in daylight, especially in hurling, when the lights are rarely high enough (THough Croker may have solved this) but there is something cool about playing under lights, its refreshing or something...

GAA Discussion / No Games in Dec/Jan
December 19, 2006, 01:57:49 PM
Sorry if these mayhave been mentioned elsewhere but I heard a rumour that the GAA introduced a rule that there are to be no intercounty games played in December or January, can anyone confirm/dispel this?

Hurling Discussion / Greatest skill in hurling
December 13, 2006, 04:31:07 PM
Sure we might as well do hurling as well. THere should be more contenders for this one.
Contenders:
Sideline cut
Doubling on the ball in the air
Blocking
Soloing at full speed
High catching
First touch
Drop pucking

Mine would have to be doubling on the ball in the air but it is one that has faded out of the game since the 80's.

GAA Discussion / Greatest skill in football

What is there to chose from? THe contenders would be high fielding, tackling or blocking, kicking off the ground.full spead solo running, kicking outside of the boot.
Mine would be the solo dummy.

GAA Discussion / Eoin Kelly(Waterford)
November 23, 2006, 01:32:44 PM
I suppose we are all treating the rumours that he was quitting as crap? Twas in the Herald there on tuesday, citing the fact that mount sion did not bring him on despite being behind. He said 8 years with the club and 7 with the county and 'was it worth the hassle'.

GAA Discussion / GAA Trivia

Name the man to win 2 All Ireland medals and two All-Stars without ever playing a match in Croke Park in his career?

Not sure of this one but I've been told its true. Name the man who played in 4 consecutive All Ireland finals (not all the same grade), won all 4, and got man of the match in all 4.

An easy one for ye
Name the man to have played in both the Club football and hurling finals AND both the County hurling and football All-Ireland finals (not the same year obvoiusly).
