Is the younger lad playing as well?? MF or where??

I was half joking.

I'm guessing that most clubsy wouldn't leave a county minor midfielder, particularly one who is big and can play, on the sidelines.

Conor played against kiltane yesterday, got 4 points too. I wasn't at the game i heard he was excellent

From HS:

Ballintubber pair named in Mayo line-up
06 January 2011

New Mayo manager James Horan has included two of his county championship winning Ballintubber team in his line-up for Sunday's FBD Connacht League opener against Leitrim.

Cathal Hallinan and Mike Nestor have been named at right corner back and centre back respectively for the trip to Ballinamore. Among the other new faces are Castlebar's Richie Feeney, Kevin Dolan of Tourmakeady and Crossmolina's Brian Benson.

Experience is provided by the likes of David Clarke, Ger Cafferkey, Trevor Howley, Ronan McGarritty, Barry Moran, Andy Moran, Aidan Kilcoyne and the Dublin-based Austin O'Malley, who has returned to the fold after missing last season.

Mayo (SF v Leitrim): D Clarke; C Hallinan, G Cafferkey, R Feeney; T Howley, M Nestor, C Barrett; R McGarrity, B Moran; A Campbell, A O'Malley, A Kilcoyne; K Dolan, A Moran (captain), B Benson.

So far it seems Horan has taken the right approach, there would have been no hope of some of these lads getting a chance in other years. Has anyone heard who else is involved in the panel for the weekend?

I'd say taking it up any later than 17-18 would be too late, look at the size of some of the Ireland u20 backs and fowards and thats not taking into account the skills and techincal side of the game.
Take defense for example the most gaa players would not have a clue about how to defend, not tackling but decision making and lines of defense. full back would prob be an easier position for a gaa player to convert to because of the space which would be available to attack but again defense would be the hardest part.
As for out half depending on the team possibly on out half conversion might be possible if the team kicked everything and didn't try and move anything thou the back line

snoopdog you haven't got a clue about rugby or the skills needed to play, it if you had a clue about the sport so stop sprouting sh1t like ''no skill whatsoever'' you should stay in your ditch watching your cattle

hopefully this will give some new lads a brake, whats the story with simon cloherty from park?

I actually heard the complete opposite from one of the st. Vincents lads he couldn't understand how austin o'malley ever got a run for the county team.

If the PM was the name of who was going to pay the expenses, don't tell the name but give us a clue.

The  So Called "Battle of Breaffy" has resulted in one suspension as Aidan O Se got off last night. Was John Melvin exaggerating or did the CCCC chicken out. Any thoughts RGS

Interesting outcome, how could one player get off and the other not, did the teams involved still lose home venue next time out.

Aidan O Se got off as far as i know and played yesterday against garrymore. it was a ridiculous sending off anyway the ref hadn't a clue what to do so sent off the two county players

I was at the Breaffy V Charlestown game, it was a terrible game not helped by a gale wind. there was a big bust up with all players from both teams involved at the end of the game AOS reacted to being fouled seemed to start things but to pick them two to be sent off must have been something the linesman suggested because 3-4 from each team could have walked.
