If the two bodies unite, surely there will no longer be an FAI, or IFA, but an entirely new body with a new name to administer football on an island wide basis. Its not a question of a takeover but an agreed way forward by everyone, based solely on how football can be best promoted.

There isn't a stadium in Belfast fit to host anything presently, if the North of Ireland fans hadn't scuppered the Maze project it would have been half built by now.

I'm sure an agreement can be reached on flags and anthems etc

you think? To be honest as i see it the demonstration of hardline loyalism at Windsor Park has been made taboo, but its still there under the surface.  I think the chances of an all-ireland national side are incredibly minimal.

was always a Nokia man and in the last few months went Blackberry. The curve 8900 i think it is.

Class phone- it's not flash and it does lack some of the addons my last Nokia maybe had but it just does all i need without any pissing about to be honest. Having messenger and email on the go at all times is a bonus. Would defo recommend. iPhones are for losers.

Are you 14  ::) Maybe you should get a job as a technology journalist.

Certainly not 14. and i stand over my statement. People with iPhones have certain needy personality types.  They rave about what they have, and what other phones don't have. Yet when you think about it- the iPhone is useful for being able to do a lot of pretty useless stuff :)

Is that critique OK?

And by the same token- I wouldn't ask for unionist emblems/flags to be removed. We live in an engineered unionist statelet. This is being eroded by democratic means but I still repect that people need their symbols and cultures- the football team is just one of them

But if they remove GSTQ, the flag is still there. SHould that go too? How far do you actually go to 'represent' nationalism before realising an all-ireland team? Personally speaking, I'm more than content with the current setup-i know we've moved on a lot but NOvember 1993 will never leave me in terms of having even a passing affection for Windsor Park

I too whilst condemning the whole sorry mess feel for the good priests who carry on with their daily, sacrificing work. The church is flavour of the month for putting the boot into(yes perhaps justifiably). Its just a pity there are real, genuine people of faith getting tarnished. Yes a lot of the blame must go to the church but that doesn't help those of faith

I disagree with the PSNI action on this one. They didnt hit them hard enough.  ;D

People live in those areas- if you wanna have toy fights go to a sandpit- without your celtic tops and carryouts.

'Mrs Windsor couldn't give a proverbial about OWC'

So she HAS something in common with northern nationalists  ;)

Is right. Not sure why the IFA think this would be relevant. I couldn't give a toss what they play and i wouldnt want them to change it on nationalism's account. People are entitled to their beliefs.

I just sent the form away via the "passport" express and been told 3 - 5 weeks

fire it into Curleys Post office. :)

i did it a coupla years back and it took just over a week. My ma got one very recently and had it back in days. I get the impression it's very much season related- you should still be OK now.  The express bit is that some preliminary checks are done before its actually submitted. You can also track its progress on the home office website i believe

I'd have dipped my toes in a few times as a lurker. Shame to see it go, as it was indeed a good site for Armagh wans. Pity it's always one or two that ruins it for everyone.

ah sure the game itself's goin that way too.... its not just one for the purists anymore.

I was a member of orchardcounty more or less since the very beginning. It was a fantastic resource for not just Armagh fans but fans of the game in general, people from all counties in Ireland and also to exiles around the world. The reason for the site's success was not necessarily in the strength of the sites membership, it was almost certainly because of the dedication, enthusiasm and love of Armagh football of the administrator there.

I was saddened to see the site vanish, as i was when it was previously suspended once or twice but i also had a brief insight as a member into the time, effort and committment needed to maintain and develop it-  and that was even before the policing of juveniles and morons on an internet message board was a fulltime headache.

People are getting stupider, thats my view. The internet has dumbed down society as a whole, and it's  not just the orchardcounty website that's having to put up with that.

Someone mentioned earlier Barry "came across as a gentleman"- he most certainly is that and i would guess (and it's only a guess) it's probably p**ed him off as much having to take this action. Nothing ever seemed to be too much hassle- but the line (and it's bang on) was that players personal lives, and personal insults around such simply wouldn't be tolerated.

I've sampled some of the alternative sites down the years and to now, and i don't anticipate they'll have the same committment, membership and/or subsequent success as OC.com did.

http://www.orchardcounty.com - good times!!
