Last week was constant and filthy . I don't recall anyone being kneed in the balls before . In the part it was a dual 2 players may of had a running battle but it very rarely turned into a 30 man all it .

This anwser is very simple. Third man in is the first man off .

So its ok if one man is kicking the sh1te out of the other?
With in limits yes , its a man's game . Games like Ice Hockey have a strict code for personal duals which works fine for them

ice hockey has those rules because it's a boring game and needs to draw in the numbers. lacross has the same system. it's stupid but any idiot can enjoy watching two lads batter each other

Personally, i think joe brolly is intelligent and honest, if arrogant, in his opinions and analysis.  Sport needs to have characters like this - sure it's kept everyone on this board entertained for the past week or so.  Did anyone else notice that joe was conspicuous in his absence on the rte panel yesterday - this just allowed pat and colm to share their shite talk about how bad the two teams were the previous week, without mentioning how bad previous matches between tyrone and armagh have been. that game was only sporting because armagh never really had much hope coming into it

there is no need for a thread for this match - it is w*nked over by lads from the respective counties in nearly every other thread anyway - and 15 years? get over it, it's not like it was the first game to be played on the moon

I think Derry deserved the victory today.  Don't think there's anyone outside of Monaghan that would disagree that they make every match a very dirty affair.  The Derry boys tried to match that but Fergal Doherty's useless at it - just gets angry and stupid - and i didn't think he performed anywhere near his standards today because of it.  Diver on the other hand seemed a lot more mature and focused than usual

I'm sure Mullan will get a suspension for that knee to the balls, although it may be slightly harsh. it's infuriating when someone starts that crap against you and i know that whenever someone starts itp against me, i always want to make sure i get the last dig in. it's possible he didn't aim to strike him in the balls, i'm sure he'll argue something like that anyway

I doubt Derry have any chance against either Tyrone or Armagh

i would say leave it. sligo is full of idiots

From what i know of armagh football, crossmaglen's dominance is offputting to other clubs and players as there isn't much chance of winning anything.  this is surely going to filter through to the detriment of the county team

dublin won't be near an all-ireland until the players get over the superstar status they're put in by the fans

I think a square ball style system should be introduced between the two 45s.  Too often the midfield third is crowded out meaning that everyone is fairly static and there's little chance of a good clean catch.  This system would also place greater emphasis on the quality of kickout, instead of keepers just hoofing it up the middle.  Breaking ball would still be very important except it would be more of a skill - players would have to judge the flight of the ball rather than just stand underneath the midfielder and throw yourself on the ball
