In the last 20 years of Ulster Junior, Monaghan have had a club in the final 14 times, 8 wins and 6 runners up, good record at this level.

In our club completions this year, the same teams have qualified for both league and championship finals at each grade.

Senior Championship and Division1 Final Scotstown v Ballybay
Intermediate Championship and Division2 Final Magheracloone v Corduff
Junior Championship and Division3 Final Clones v Killanny

They still got a nice night out in Monaghan though a weeks ago....the video of about 5 of the team getting decked by one local lad outside the nightclub is hilarious, county board could definitely make a few bob selling the rights to it.

The clones lad apparently lives within a couple of miles of clones and initially joined them, i believe his address is in fermanagh though.
Apparently he was called up to numerous underage fermanagh squads on the provision that he change to a fermanagh club...he kept refusing, fermangh took it to ulster council and i think the lad was even threatened with a ban.
However i think the ulster council relented when evidence was presented to them about the can of worms they would bring upon themselves regarding players all over the province living in border areas that are representing the club closest to them...

As Clones parish is in both Monaghan and Fermanagh, is there a Fermanagh club formally representing the Fermanagh bit?

Aghadrumsee id say...
Roslea and Newtownbutler also very close..

Tight stuff. Seems to be a Monaghan shoot out between Hughes (UU) and Carey (DCU) ...

Or even a Scotstown shootout...  ;)

Plans are in place for the redevelopment of St. Tiernachs Park in Clones.

It follows a meeting between the Monaghan County Board, St.Tiernachs Park Development committee and members of the Ballybay/Clones Municipal District.

Fine Gael Councillor Hugh McElvaney told Northern Sound News that planning permission for the development and the appointment of an architect where discussed at the meeting.

Councillor McElvaney says no funding is available yet but states it's very important that St.Tiernachs Park is redeveloped.
