GAA Discussion / Re: GAA Response to Coronavirus
October 19, 2020, 09:36:38 AM
Wondering how the other elete teams who travelled north last weekend worked around this scenario :

QuoteThe Leitrim chairman also revealed that some members of the team were unable to travel as they were told by their employers that they would have to quarantine for 14 days if they crossed the border: "There were some others told by their work that if they had played in Newry, they would have to stay away from work for two weeks. That's awful to put young fellows under pressure to that extent but that happened and that was disappointing."

GAA Discussion / Ladies GAA final - Logistics Question?
September 23, 2016, 11:13:13 AM
Have to bring young kids up to Ladies Final on Sunday.  Want to park as close as possible with least amount of hassle.
What's the story with Clonliffe College?  Is it just pay on the way in next Sunday?

Just want to pick the brains of all the Croke Park veterans ;)

Cheers.

General discussion / Re: When did people stop dying?
November 18, 2015, 10:07:57 PM
I kinda agree with this lads view..http://www.harpyness.com/2010/09/08/on-dying-and-passing-away-a-rant/

A news report on the Paris tragedies talked about the victims passing away. It felt inapropriate considering they were mowed down with a kalashnikov. Why try to sugar coat such atrocities in soft language.  :o

General discussion / When did people stop dying?
November 18, 2015, 05:35:23 PM

When I was younger people would say that so and so had "died",  nowadays everybody says they have "passed away" or "passed on".  :'(
What's wrong with saying a person has died?  Media outlets never use the term any more.  Is there some pc reason for all this?

Just wondering!

GAA Discussion / Minutes Silence
July 28, 2015, 01:35:06 PM
Just wondering when this soccer sh1t of clapping your way through a minutes silence started up in the GAA. I've noticed it at a few recent games.
What's wrong with just standing still and respectfully shutting ta fcuk up for a minute.  >:(

From a Leitrim perspective all I can say is :

::) heard it all before in 94!

....the usual s**t talk when one of the other three makes the break.

Longford 0-13
Leitrim 0-10.

Very poor display from a Leitrim perspective. Too many players not playing to their best! Strange selection decisions!

Serious questions have to be asked about Moran & Morrison.   Still in Div 4. Lost to Roscommon, Poor display in the backdoor!
Some progress under the dream management team!  >:( :(

Just in from the Clare game.  Concerning that it's just ~6 weeks to the championship and no sign of a settled first team.

Mickey Moran says Leitrim still has an outside chance of promotion ???  :o

Thats if (I think...) :

Waterford beat Sligo
Letirm beat Clare,
Carlow beat Wicklow,

Antrim beat Waterford
Wicklow beat Sligo.

And Leitrim beat Clare by 9 + the diff at the end of the WD/SO game - the diff at the end of the Antrim/WD game!!

So any bookie going to give me odds on that!  :P

Sligo 0-12, Leitrim 0-4 with about a minute to go.

Some game in Charlestown. Gone to extra time!

Leitrim 0-3 Sligo 0-5 at half time
