GAA Discussion / Re: BLOODY SUNDAY VICTIMS REMEMBERED
December 09, 2008, 05:08:19 PM
sooner the gaa removes itself from all this political bull the better- the gaa is a sporting organisation not a republican idiots mecca. commemorating hunger strike in casement was the lowest ever for the gaa and they wonder why they are considered sectarian

GAA Discussion / Re: AFL Invasion

As a leading Irish sporting star said recently - the scouting is the only good thing to ever come out of the gaa, finally there is a bit of output for squandering massive amounts of tax payers money year on year, thank god the rugy and soccer are at least putting this tax payers money to use regardless of the begrudgers

the pathetic thing about all of this is that somehow in the gaa there is a belief that if two people have €60 for an all ireland ticket the person who deserves that ticket is for some other reason than hard cash, that im afraid does not work its economically flawed. Might equals right in my book, if person A earns more than person B should they not deserve the ticket more cause they can pay more. the most pathetic thing about the lot is people give off about the above but when a comapny does the exact same there is no problem, as soon as a team reaches an all ireland the local club gets the call that the local company wants 10 tickets if not there will be no sponsorship next year, ive seen it done ive even made the phone call while at college on an internship, no problems and no issue, but if person A gets tickets simply cause they are rich there is hell to pay despite the fact that clubs are auctioning tickets left right and centre to the highest bidder but in true gaa fashion we like to forget our own shortcomings and blame someone else, when the hard fact of the matter remains tickets for an all ireland final should be no less than €200 it makes absolutely no sense to have them any less, its not a charity its a comodity, and as adam smith said the invisible hand always comes into action.

I always get tickets anyways but people will be still harping on about the same old bull all the time suggesting the man who can or wont pay for his ticket is the man most deserving- what total bull

what am i supposed to say 30 lads on a field and only one could nearly be described as a footballer and thats sean cavanagh but sure he is further from the tyrone mentality than anyone, captained Ireland against his managers wishes and if what i hear is true he is the only member of the panel who refuses the booklet on the opponents personal lives, that makes him the only real gaa man in tyrone in my books, what a shame he is not from a real county

sorry dixie i just believe the man is a cancer to the gaa we all know the tyrone mentality we aint blind even if the whole of the ulster brigade are- tyrone to follow armagh on the road to nowhere as they have no pedigree or class- im a rugby fan but i hate rugby league the fastest growing sport in tyrone- bunch of cowards the lot of them
#7
ah i do love a match of ultimate fight like only armagh and tyrone can produce- change the chanel if its gaa your looking for

it doesnt matter the higher people of society will always have first pick and rightly so, some people dont want to go to games all year they just want to go to the final and if they have the reddies to do so i say more power to them, i believe might = right regarding tickets they only person who deserves one is the person with one in their hand

GAA Discussion / Re: Definition of incompetent - GAA
December 08, 2008, 02:47:25 PM
ive yet to meet anyone intelligent in the gaa im sorry but at admin level a dinosaur is always prefereed, but sure the gaa is great to laugh at especially when you can go look at realy organisation and how they conduct ther business
#10
dublin and tyrone another yawn of a game would you think the gaa would at least play two footballing teams under lights
#11
im sure the usual rule breakers of dublin tyrone cork are all at it, funniest thing i ever seen was the picture of the cork lads training by themselves- classic stuff
#12
thought that program was an insult to all real gaa people- everyone knows the tyrone mentality of fists over football and hatre is an icon of this despite claiming the preacher role- sooner he is long forgotten about the better for gaa sake- i know this might not go down well in some quarters but its only an opinion and i believe it to be as valid as anyones

GAA Discussion / Re: Future of Croke Park
June 25, 2008, 03:48:56 PM
eye sore to say the least, has gaa written all over it- only do half a job, as a mate of mine says one word describes croker: amateur- and he doesnt mean it in a good way. Croke park at present is a purpose built concert venue or 3/4 of a modern stadium.

they are a complete waste of time especially when you think the dubs get all games at home for the whole year, guarnteed- its a joke
