If he's naming dummy teams to take on antrim he's an even bigger fruit loop than i thought

Drastic problems require drastic solutions I suppose.
I can't imagine Tony Browne being any better in there now either.

I'd be nearly more worried about the keeper after some of the goals conceded in recetn times - although I suppose Davy is the perfect man to get him ship shape and full of confidence. Knowing you can trust the keeper makes the full back job easier!

Yeah Coulter (Declan is it?) is the one Armagh hurling name you'd recognise, he always puts up great scores.

I guess he's another of those star guys from the weaker counties that'd make a kilkenny or cork team any time.

thanks for the explanation highking

I guess anything that keeps hurling growing in the "weaker" spots is a good thing.

I'd say Fingal might beat Longford this weekend
Leitrim to beat Fermanagh
tyrone to beat monaghan
and cavan to beat warwickshire

Looks like most of the big guns have the bye this weekend
Derry should beat armagh
Down get under way against london and should win easily
mayo v kerry and roscommon v wicklow might be two tights ones

The antrim game will hardly tell us much about Ken at full back anyway (no offence to antrim)... although I suppose if the full forward scored a brace of goals then it'd be panic stations.
It's their biggest weak spot - full back line+keeper conceding loads of goals - so I suppose some kind of drastic action is needed

Westmeath are obviously raging hot favourites. Impressive start from them yesterday.
But Carlow, Down, Meath and Kildare could all challenge to some degree.
Andy Comerford looks to have Kildare going well.

Yep they're not very exciting fixtures and it's stupid the way home advantage wasn't given to the weaker teams but outside of that there's not much you can do.

With only 7 or 8 top teams it's hard to strike a balance - not that the GAA have done much this year in encouraging teams 9-12, they've practically told them to f-off.

The only way forward is to scrap the provincial system and have an open draw with 3 or 4 groups but that'll never happen

Id say Louth - seeing as they won Div 3 in the league

I don't get the whole Fingal (a part of Dublin) and Non-Ards thing. Well maybe Fingal cos of the amount of players in Dublin, but why are Down allowed field a 2nd team... doesnt make sense

I think Laois are in bits at the moment, doubt they'll manage to repeat the league success. Young's knee is gone, and a host of the best youngsters are missing through injury, football, lack of interest!

Dublin need to beat Westmeath to keep their underage success ticking over - if they really hit form they could make it to the leinster final this year.... if...
