First game of the year for Ulster tonight. Team - Packie McConnell in goals, Brendan Donaghy, Justy McMahon & Gerard O'Kane in full back line. Aaron Kernan, Ciaran McKeever & Davy Harte at half back, Hub Hughes & Mick McCann in midfield, Enda McGinley, Benny Coulter, Joe McMahon in half forwards with  Paddy Bradley, Michael Murphy & Eoin Bradley up front. Joe McMahon replaced by Danny Hughes of  Down who looked very sharp. Close enough first half with Ulster pulling away in last 15 minutesof second half. Kernan, Coulter & Hughes the pick of the bunch tonight. Andy Mallon played very well for Pearse Ogs

In the b county league tonight - dromintee 4-18 Sarsfields 0-08. Can we play you every week?

nice to see dromintee eventually get something against sarsfields this year.

I see Cruppens form has dipped at a less than convenient time.

Ogs will eat yis alive.

Well if they do, does anyone think they can beat Cross? By all accounts they came close last week in the league and that was in Cross

On the U21 squad - some very big omissions
1. Colm Watters (Culloville) - CHF on 05 & 06 minors - UUJ sigerson squad last yr
2. Darren Rowland (Culloville) - on both 05 & 06 minors - won Hogan with the Abbey
3. Niall Treanor (Silverbridge) - on both 05 & 06 minors midfield in 06 - scored 1-5 v Cavan in league final in Clones
4. David Comiskey (Tullysaran) - captain of 07 minors & colleges all-star last yr
5. Tony Marley (Tir na nOg) - regular starter on senior team for 3 yrs
6. Declan McManus (Pearse Og) - 06 minor & starts on club seniors this past 2 yrs
Also other prominent players from 07 minors - Tony Donnelly, Gary McCooey, Stephen Sheridan as well as Gavin McParland - double colleges all-star

Why then are Moy & Moortown not playing on these dates and going on with league games in the meantime? With both of these teams having county men it will not be easy for them to catch up on their league games. By next week Moy will be two games behind some other teams.

This was the case before Tyrone lost in Newry. They now play in the qualifiers on 19th July & and on the next 3 weekends also if they are successful. The last information was that the Intermediate Champiionship would be played on 15th August

Moy v Moortown in Intermediate Championship is on 4th July. There are no other games in this grade until 15th August. What is the reason for this? It means that Moy miss two league games against Trillick (this week) and Clann na nGael (next week) which would have a major bearing on the top of the table, as these are the two teams above them. Also, if Moortown get knocked out of the championship next week they wont have much to play for, sitting in the bottom half of the league

Was at the Moy game in Greencastle. Mellon got a straight red ok for striking but it was Colm Cavanagh who got a 2nd yellow in the last minute for a very high tackle. Sean Cavanagh virtually won the game on his own with a series of long range points in the second half. Greencastle played fairly well but just lacked the same scoring power

It takes more than a good club player to win titles in Croke Park at such a young age. All of these have done this with club and/or county minors. Winning is a state of mind and these lads have it.

POG, with all due respect Armagh do have the players coming through. About 6 (Finnegan, McKeown, P Kernan, McKenna, Hanratty & Carragher) from Cross are all still Under 21 this year. Add to this Toner & McClelland from Granemore. We won AI U21 in 2004, Ulster U21 last year and minor in 2005. A lot of players were on both squads. Also good minor teams in past two years with good individuals.  It will take a while but the future is bright the future is orange

It shows the drill in operation just like the OTĂș software or any other CD. Easier for players to see and understand

O'Rourke will do a good job and is highly rated everywhere he has been. However he has got a very tough opener against Monaghan. Best chance would again to appear to be through back door

Brendan showed drills and games he used in training which dealt with problems the team had and then they showed a video of how these worked for them in a match. I have no idea about name of software
