Unfortunately, the tactics that were employed could only logically produce one outcome. Cheddar had an inherent belief that there was a "gap" and set the team up accordingly. It's very hard to win if you're trying not to lose.

We have good players but we need high intensity and a positive attitude.

I totally agree with this you get out of it the belief you have going into it and that goes mostly for everything in life sports been no exception.

You could see todays result coming for the last 2 years unfortunately we were getting worse with every game played with the exception of the Antrim game.

I realise we had lots of injuries and non committals and that is challenging for sure but at the end of the day they are only excuses to make you feel better.

Very best of luck to our minors tonight go out and hurl to your potential and just treat it like another game and don't get phased by the occasion.

A win would be wonderful and they can do it too but this Offaly team are strong and talented too so should be a real contest i hope we give it our all anyway and keep the winning streak going.

I think training must be just an excuse to get out of the house for a few hours and socialise because after last Sunday there can't be much football going on.

Laois 4 Sam

Laois peaked too early during the o'Byrne cup

Man oh man with things been this bad we are best to go out now and put everyone out of their misery.

Tough days to be a Laois GAA supporter.

Saw this comment on another forum from a non Laois person and i think it sums us up alright.

"Typical Laois - one step forward (2019) and then five steps back"

Is Marty Scully involved this year. In my opinion he was one of our outstanding players last year and it would be awful if he was gone as this year would be massive for him..

Junior Ex Laoistalk, i was just thinking the exact same thing not a word about him yet this year and he was one of our best players last year i just hope he is still involved.

That is just shocking that many players not committing i am sure a few have genuine reasons for not participating but that many,? Eddie Brennan must be thinking to himself Thank God this is my last season with Laois.

This kind of attitude and thinking in uniquely a Laois thing for sure its like subsconsiously these absent players are afraid of success they feel more comfortable with failure and been second best after the success of last season this year may just be a step even closer to success than they would have liked

I see where all Laois camogie teams have pulled out of their championship also for lack of interest and availability of players, so, this is not just confined to male thinking either.

There is a saying go big or go home and with our shit thinking it looks like our teams will always be going to f**k home with our tail between our legs.

Bit of a shock to see Sugrue step down that sure came out of the blue very surprising at this time when he had the team moving along nicely and making progress, i was wondering and this is just my own opinion but after two successful seasons is it possible he could see his third year in charge as been more challenging as we may find it tough going in Div 2 and who knows maybe a few retirements as well i know there are younger lads coming through but all the same, and he may have thought he won't be able to keep this upward trend and progress going and just wanted to go out when things were very positive and at a high you could say.

Anyway just speculation as seen he did not give a valid reason for leaving yet anyway all we can do now is speculate.

How about Mick Dempsey as a replacement, i am sure he could be available after Kilkenny are beaten in the hurling final the man knows what it takes to achieve success with a team anyway.

Hey there fellas, long time listener first time caller. haha

That was a good win for Laois last weekend i hope they can keep the momentum going this Saturday as wins at these stages give the county a big lift.

Anyway just thought it tough to only have one week between games why not 2 weeks between games,? it would give the players a bit more rest and recovery time and also maybe give the injured ones a bit more time to get back on the team too, like what rush is there to get it all completed in such a short time span.

Offaly won't be easy and they will be really up for this game make no mistake about that with a nothing to lose mentality they will throw everything at Laois and i just hope the lads heads and focus are at 100% for this.
