Is McGeeney really an Armagh man or is he a money man! His choice, we need him the players, supporters want him, the players would do anything for him! We would be such a different team, but is he really an Armagh man?? Will he step up and take Armagh and develop them or is his 70 grand and new car to important to him in Kildare. The next 3 months will tell is whether McGeeney is a true Armagh man or just a money man!!!! Ur decision Geezer

Unfortunately the talent isn't in the County. Mcgeeney is not a silver bullet and I think it's wrong that we pin future hopes on him. If McGeeney decided to manage Armagh tomorrow I'd be the first to welcome it but I reckon we need to suck on a bit of reality- 2000 to 2005 is long gone and having players like Clarke, Stevie, McGrane, Geezer, O'Rourke, Hearty, Hughes all on the one team is not something any team can repeat readily.

I'm as gutted as the next man about where Armagh football is but I don't think there is a 'Geezer' solution even in terms of mid to long term development- What's he done with Kildare....really?

GAA Discussion / Re: Armagh v Dublin - NFL 05/02/11

Gota Say lads, I'm somewhat bemused as to some posters suggestion that PO should go now etc, etc - they guy was involved and we won Div 2 last year and got promoted into Div 1. If 2010 bore no silverware and or promotions I still think it woudl be premature to call for his head.

I agree that this has the potential to be a bit of a slap in the bake alright but we do owe Dublin a boot from last year don't we? I'd be fairly confident that we will be able to hodl our own....it's not Cross though and if we can;t win big games in Armagh City our games will be moved back to Cross...I think.

I'm going to be in the lake district for the game - anyone know of any pubs likely to be show it. Probably a fwiggin long shot though!

the Lake District is a big place saan, what part...i know a few around Egremont

A place called Grizebeck - looks like something out of the dark ages so I ain't holdin' out much hope leek. It's about 3-4 miles outside of Broughton in Furness.

Overall I think it was a secodn gear performance from us whilst Laois put in their top gear ability - which on the face of it wasn't good enough to beat us. Watching the game I do believe there is much optimism to be had in various sectors.

As already mentioned, the sight of Andy Mallon and Duffer making surguing runs up the field was something else and something that I feel was missing from our game for the last 3-4 years. Having a solid 1/2 back line that allows the two corners to overlap on the counter I think will only benefit our game.

Ciaran McKeever is prooving himself with every game as far as I'm concerned and I think he has as much presence along that line as McGeeny had in his day.

Midfield was a bit of a worry and I think (open to correction) we only had one single mark in the entire game (2 marks in total including Laois...again open to correction)

I have no worries over Clarkey at all, rusty yes, but that's to be expected. The trick here is fro Henderson to maintain some level of consistency, I said this last year when he popped 46 goals past Wexford then dissappeared off the face of the Earth. I was talkin' to a few Laois fellas in The Square Bar after the game and they were 'blown away' by him an d said he's the next Stevie McD....I'm yet to be convinced.

Anyway - good night, plenty of white wine and cheese at the game and a good result.
