Am I the only one who doesn't rate Puyol?

Haely gave him the run around that night at Windsor when he scored the hat trick

My Granny's housekeeper walks by old trafford everyday on her way to work and she said that yesterday she bumped into a shop-keeper who had to order in an italian phrasebook for a 'Mr. C. Ronaldo'. He says he has it on reliable authority that Ronaldo is going to AC Milan in return for half a mars bar.

Puyol is as close to a no nonsense centre half as you can get in Spain (well after the beast of Barcelona), but at the same time I don't think he would be half the player Terry, Dunne, Carragher and others in the prem, he would be mediocre at best!

Its a complete different style of football in Spain. All defenders look mediocre due to the looseness of the play
Zambrotta Canavarro and Woodgate have all struggled to make the impact they have made in other leagues. I would guess Terry and Carra would look exposed in Spain and would be caught for pace week in week out.
Puyol is all heart and Catalan passion but I wouldnt have him anywhere near a world 11

I am really looking forward to the amount of shite that will be talked in here. Should be good entertainment. I heard Puyol is going to Liverpool in a straight swap for Carragher and Gerrard, thats if United dont get in first with their bid for a straight swap with Ferguson, Neville and Scholes

Portugal international midfielder Deco could be set for a move to England after Barcelona confirmed he is free to talk to interested clubs.

The Brazil-born star, who is likely to be a target for a number of Premier League clubs, said: "I will almost certainly go to England or Italy.

"I won't stay in Spain as the only club at the same level as Barcelona is Madrid and I would never go to Madrid.

"I will go where I want and not where the club tells me."

Deco joined Barca from Porto in 2004 after helping the Portuguese side win the Uefa Cup, Champions League and domestic league titles.

The 30-year-old won two league championships with the Catalan giants, and was part of the team that beat Arsenal in the Champions League final in Paris in 2006.

However, a series of injuries have hampered Deco's season, contributing to just 14 La Liga starts in Barcelona's campaign.

Reports suggest he is one of a number of big names who could exit the Nou Camp this summer, with Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto'o, Lilian Thuram, Eidur Gudjohnsen and Thierry Henry all mentioned as possible departures.

Barcelona News:

What is 100%, is that coach Frank Rijkaard will leave & ex-player
Pep Guardiola will coach the team next season, his assistant is
rumour to be another ex-player Luis Enrique...OK fine up to this
point.

What is also 100% is that Portugues International midfielder DECO
is also leaving, as announced by the player yesterday, after the Club
looked favourably for him to look elsewhere. Possible next stop? If
Mourinho finally lands at INTER , it´s a good bet Deco will follow.

Camaroon International & star forward SAMUEL ETO´O, is said by
"Mundo Deportivo" & "Sport", to also have his Clubs OK to find a new
team after the player expressed his discontent & desire for a new
"stimulant" elsewhere. This has made Clubs come running to knock on
his door, specially at this moment, TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS & INTER
MILAN, with the former offering 33M€ & having its President - Daniel
Levy - fly in next week to Barcelona to push hard. The only handicap? That
Tottenham will not be in Champions next season, so Eto´o may wait around
to check out clamly all the possible offers.

What is 100% is that RONALDINHO will not be with Barça next
season. The Club has a 25M€ offer on the table from AC MILAN &
has given its OK for negotiations to come to a happy end, according
to daily "Sport". There was a 30M€ offer from Manchester City, but
Ronaldinho rejected the offer to play there. Therefore, it´s a question
of time before an official announcement will take place between the
Brazilian & AC Milan.

Possible Incorporations:

DANI ALVES (Sevilla FC) - negotiations advanced & looks very likely
KEITA (Sevilla FC) - seen as the substitute for Deco. May pay directly
his 15M€ contract release clause, no need to negotiate with his club.
PIQUE (Manchester Utd) - done deal, signed
COLOCCINI (Deportivo) - rumour, to fill in for injuried Gabi Milito
JARQUE (Espanyol) - rumour, not real basis.
RODRIGO PALACIOS (Boca Juniors) - apparently a done deal.
XAVI ALONSO (Liverpool FC) - long time spectulation
SILVA (Valencia) - apparently talking
BENZAMA (Lyon) - high price, very difficult
ADEBAYOR (Arsenal) - Arsenal will not let go, very difficult
RIBERY y LUCA TONI (B.Munich) - speculation, NO real substance
DANI GUIZA (Mallorca) - if above forwards fail, could be option

QuoteThe Inter, that seems to have agreed to Jose Mourinho for the next season, is going to be one of the protagonists of the east market summer. To the club of Massimo Moratti Series A has remained him small (sum three titles in four seasons), and now its objective is Liga de Campeones.

"The Gazzetta" informs that, three days ago, Joan Laporta and Massimo Moratti shared table and table cloth. And they spoke of soccer players, clearly. In particular of two: Deco, of that for a long time have been knowing that it will not follow in the Barça, and Samuel Etoo, although, according to the azulgrana club, the Cameroun is intransferable.

But Moratti (or Mourinho, or both) has been encaprichado of the Cameroun. And they are arranged to offer 30 million Euros to take control of its services. The number would raise 40 if the ten are added that would allow the encounter between Deco and the technician who did champion to him of Europe with the Oporto.

Nevertheless, the Inter will not have it easy. According to the Italian newspaper, the Barça tries to obtain, at least facing the gallery, a total of 65 million Euros coming from the sale of both players, although everything is negotiable and could get to be satisfied to 50 (40 by "Samu" and ten by luso). In summary, ten million difference Euros. Much money, but whether does not consider the openwork that could have the double operation.
