An updated version of the hoganstand.com message board will go live over the next couple of days with extra features for our users.
The new forum is registration based so you will have to login every time you want to post a message.
In order to register you simply have to choose a user name and password, and supply us with your email address. We will then send you a verification email from which you can activate your account.
In the new design you will be able to start up topics which other message board users can reply to, as well as the general thread which we currently have.
As before there will be separate forums for each county and now users will be able to create separate threads for football and hurling.
What's this all about Ziggy ?
Hoganstand.com is relaunching on Monday and redeveloping their messageboard. Looks like it is going to be based on this one....
I hope we don't get any of their members ! :D
Might bring some order to proceedings.

The one I remember on the louth thread was the bucher byrne from rathoath, the only thing that I'd say that lad butchered was the english language.
I used to post on it regularly, under a different name, a couple of years ago before I stumbled across this board. I must register my old name for fear of someone else taking it!
Maybe they'll be able to filter out all the students with nothing else to do but slag each other off. Oh and most of the Lancs lads winding each other up.

Surely it will be just as bad as it will be the same posters,are the posts going straight on like the gaa board and then modified if need be? Surely a big problem on the hoganstand was whoever was vetting the posts was letting some rough stuff on the site

I tried to post about the fact that the comments are all still moderated which seems daft. Needless to say, Herr Moderator didn't see fit to put it up. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
The hoganstand.com has responded to my email. Unfortunately they cannot transfer the name back to me. However they would be monitoring that username to see what content he posts and if it was just registered to be abusive under my name.
I can get into the main message board but when I try to access the Down "have your say " page I am getting a website error warning . Anyone else getting this ?
Everyone should be warned when entering Down ;)

Some tool used a modified version of mine to post a comment on the Antrim website. Would love to understand what his motives were, cause what he posted wasn't that contentious. That admin boy is hard to talk to ::)
It's pointless when posts still have to be approved (and yet they still process the crap!). Posts are going to sit there all night and then the admin will approve a run of them in the morning and the thread will make as little sense as posts to the old Board with no order to replies. It's also a horrible layout - the writing is far too small for a start.
I've registered, but i can't see myself using it any more than i did with the old Board.
Why when everyone gives out about the "hoganstand" posting on this board - is everyone heading back over there? It was, and will continue to be an amazingly badly moderated childrens playground. Has liam from walkinstown ever posted on this board?

Same here, some idiot took the name ive been using there for ages. While i agree with what they are doing with the site, its annoying to have some fool come in and post crap under your name just cos he was at home on PC sat while i was at our minor hurling game! Ah well, just have to re-invent myself!

Just had a peek on the Monaghan message board and out of 7 topics, one is the site's admin introduction and 5 are spam about joining clubs in Galway, New York, London and Glasgow. What's the point?

Its because every post is being vetted and possibly censored prior to being published. The mods must finish work at 10pm. I don't know if there is a mod from each county but I thought the cavan one was finished at 9-30pm. Frankly couldn;t care less anyway I'm done posting there and having my comments butchered by censors.
I've had the most harmless posts rejected by the moderator, and then you read some of the nonsense that gets through in one piece.
The mind boggles.
And the Jinxie that posts there is not me. ;)
