Folks, just want to see what yous think of the site.

Alot of effort goes into the site and I want to gauge your thoughts on it. If no one can be bothered then I'll shut the doors. If you think its shite then just say so.

The sites down at the minute and just want to see if it is worth the effort to get it back up and going again.

Cheers,

Dicky

Some problems with posting predictions at times last year but thoroughly enjoyed the experience.  Look forward to taking part this year.  Great stuff

Definitely a highlight for the board. Hard work i'm sure but much appreciated. Any chance of a variety of knock-outs (even county v county as in county average v county average as long as there were at least, say, 4 predictors from that county).

I played it in 2005. Last year however, I just forgot to fill it in for a few weeks and I thought it wouldn't be worth my while doing it anymore, hopefully next year if I can remember to do it I will.

I played in 2006 (all comps) for the first time and thought it was a great set-up, will play again for sure if it can be kept going.

I thought it was brilliant dickie, tried to pay something towards it but that paypal has never liked me, if u'd PM me bank details myself and a few mates would put a score each towards it for next year, maybe something other people could think about?

Will continue to play and do appreciate the amount of work involved in building and maintaining the site. Would a small contribution (£s) from all participants help in any way? I would be keen on an inter-county competition as suggested by O'Neill.

The problem with the intercounty is that a lot of people join for a week or two and then stop, for intercounty comp u need it to only be participating people

It is very enjoyable.  Paying a few quid for decent prizes would be an idea.

Still waiting on my prize from Pride.ie from my 2005 champo victory (or was it 2004 ;D)

Well dicky is this going ahead? Really hope so, had a good run of it last year
The idea behind an intercounty league hinges on all players participating, somehting thats not going to happen.

Anyone care to enlighten me?
Title: Re: GAASpreads.com

Basically sam, there is a list of all the matches for the week, with a spread given for each match
e.g. for the first week

Mayo V Kerry       Kerry by 3.5
dublin V tyrone     Tyrone by 0.5

U either pick mayo or kerry, if u pick mayo and mayo win, theres a draw or kerry win by 3 points or less ur a winner & get a point
If u pick kerry they have to win by 4 points or more

If u pick dublin in the second one and the match ends in a draw or dublin win then u get a point
If u pick tyrone they need to win by a point or more

Alternatively u can call a draw in any match, if it is a draw then u get 2 points

If there could be a way to lessen the pain of missing a weeks' spreads then that would be great. For example 90% of average mark the first week missed, 70% second week missed, 50% if you miss a third week and feck all after that. Just a thought but might prove a burden.

Would be very hard to run i'd imagine seanie.
Possibly allowing 2 weeks spreads at a time?
Again a lot of time & organisation

Its great for keeping an interest in all the games even after your county is out. Particularly enjoyed the mini leagues you can set up with mates.

Only thing is a lot of people just stop playing hence the loads of zeros etc - what about a rule that if you miss four weeks or whatever your removed. Makes the league more meaningful.

Excellent - keep up the good work!

One way to keep it interesting for those who miss a week might be:

After the 7 rounds of league matches, Allow each contestant to drop thier worst weekly score( a bit like the Showjumping).
Carry on as normal in the knockout stages

Probably not that easy for Dickyrock and Sligoman, unless they could come up with some mad computer program to do the adding and subtracting!

Venter's suggestion is a good one but if it is too much of a problem then things are fine the way they were.

When I knew I was going to be away and would not have internet access, I used just say, but me in for the favourites , no bonus. Perhaps if people missed a week then the favourites would apply as their picks, at least in theory they would get some points.

Its a geat aul idea. Enter it every year except I tend to miss a week somewhere along the way and then lose heed. That's me own stupidity though - no fault of the organisers.
