Title: Championship Status

Do many counties use their league to decide their championship status.
I know that Galway are one county that use it.

Yes Tyrone do use it.

I believe it is the most fair system. You also get reward for winning the championship in that you get
promotion to the next division.

In Tyrone 2 teams from each league go up and 2 down.
The league and championship winners go up.

In Antrim ANY club can enter Senior Championship if they so wish - and are also free to choose at what level they play championship at in any given year subject to no howls of protest from other clubs.

Leagues are fairly indicative of Championship status but promotion / relegation isnt affected by C'ship performance as in tyrone.
