Off there for a pal's wedding in October. Anyone been and can they recommend a good 3 or 4 star hotel in or close to the 'Old Town'?

Try here Shamrock..I haven't been to Dubrovnik but i have used these for other destinations
Look up Angelic Apartments, used them in June, top quality, 80 euros a night. Get the bus in from the airport and ur one will pick u up at the Pile Gate and give u a quick tour around (doesn't charge for this). Overlooks the Old Town, only downside is the steps up to it...

a few people who have been numerous times have all proposed hotels in 'Cavtat' as being in a better location than Dubrovnik itself
regular buses and only a few miles to central Dubrovnik (5 or 6 I think they said)
other than that
www.tripadvisor.com usually isnt bad for best places
