Title: Coronation Chicken Recipe
Post by: Orior on April 05, 2023, 08:14:47 PM
Apologies for the thread subject, but it's just to keep the riff-raff out.

Who is getting excited about the coronation of the british King Char-less (as my mum would say) three sticks?

Are you having a par-tay or have you been invited to one?

Or, has one invited one to one's coronation?

Is there money being doshed out for par-tays? Is there a mechanism to ensure fair funding and these events are not cold-houses for republicans, in the same way that loyalists love to attend St Patrick's Day?

Is your Queen dead? When did that happen?

Presumably there will be some Coronation Street Parties in the north of the county.

But how do loyalists feel about Camilla ? That is surely the question.

I always wondered what the South would have been like under the Brits but the North has a lot of it including the history of violence.

A basket case worse than Wales and the North of England.

As late as the 50s Unionists were laughing at th south but now the North is so far behind on any metric you care to use. Under decent governance the upside potential is significant.

I'd say until the Celtic tiger the south was a bit like Bulgaria

Until the troubles the North was holding its own.
The key metric for hotels in the South was occupancy but for the Europa it was number of times bombed.
The North never recovered economically from the Troubles.

Lebanon was similar. Pre 1973 it was the Middle East's banking centre. After 20 years of civil war the banks moved elsewhere and the economy never recovered its previous status.
