Anyone think its about time they at least put 1 hurling and 1 football national league game on a friday night under the lights be a great occasion for involved and people could go on the drink after it.
And will players be paid for taking a day off work?
And will supporters have to take half days to travel all over the Country?
yes and maybe they can find jobs that dont work on fridays lol

I think it'd work if it involved 2 local counties. They play Mc Kenna Cup games at 8pm mid-week. Lads must get off work and they're not home to midnight!

Are you 9 and from Dublin? These are amateur players.
It's a good thing these lads don't play club games, imagine playing an amateur sport at 8pm on a Wednesday night, and going to work the next day! It never happens. Some doh bags on here

Club games are between places near each other.

Definitely a good idea if neighbouring counties involved.
Neighbouring East Coast Counties maybe.

If both counties are happy enough then it'd be great. It shouldn't be imposed on any team though.
The question is what does amateur mean in a gaa context?
Longford v Offaly would have been a possible for last night. Not many others from this weekend's NFL fixtures.

Why would that be relevant here? If it suits for both teams then it's gonna work well. The players love friday evening games as it means they can have night out on the saturday. They're all young lads so a saturday night out or 2 over the season is great.

I'm only stating that people use the 'amateur' status of the GAA in times like this to say they'd have to take the Friday off etc but I'm with you. If both counties are happy on a Friday night and it suits everyone- then go for it.

Would it really? There were less than 15k at tonight's game between Dublin and Galway. Last Saturday had one of the worst conditions ever, yes it could happen on Sunday too but I personally don't feel as cold in the afternoon as I do at night. I'm watching the Limerick Tipp game now and it seems a small enough crowd. So the question for me is, has the 'atmosphere' been taken out of the evening games? It's only early in the year but still...
8,559 in Limerick for the hurling tonight.
