Title: qualifier draw
Post by: tyrone thinker on May 28, 2018, 09:41:04 AM
surely there is a need for 2 tier competition even if carlow and longford had big wins at the weekend, the standard inleinster is so poor apart from dublin.

Lads, if you want tiered competitions, on the basis of quality, then you'll have 4 or 5 teams in tier one. Longford's win over Meath, and Carlow's over Kildare are huge results for those counties. Why should they be denied those days?

Could still have them if ye follow my suggestions of every team plays in its Provincial  (no matter how bad it is) and the 3 All Irelands with Promotion/Relegation.

Tier one would currently include Kildare,Meath
Tier two would currently include Carlow,Longford

Carlows win yesterday will be talked about for many decades ahead. A Tier 2 competition would be treated the same as in hurling e.g lack of coverage or interest and number of Carlows better players probably won't even commit to county level then.

In fairness he's only taking a year out after giving many years of service to his county.
