New York to shock Sligo and throw Connacht championship into chaos by not fielding a team in the next round. Sligo reinstated by Prentyburo and triumph over Leitrim's conquerers, London, in quarter final tie played in McHale Park. For semi final Roscommon object to playing surface in Markievicz Park and poor bus parking facilities but this is ruled out of order by the Prentyburo. Ros then slump to a shock defeat but remain confident of All Ireland victory. Connacht final is delayed due to two replays in the Galway/Mayo saga with Mayo eventually emerging to face Sligo. Anger all round as final is played in Salthill and a small crowd misses Sligo's narrow one point victory thanks to a contentious last minute penalty.

Rest of the year is pretty boring.

Bloody does and all, given we're playing Mayo in the quarter-final if we get over New York. ;D

Sorry I got the draw wrong (in my defence for a small province it's ridiculously convoluted) but was just getting into the spirit of things!

It's easily forgotten til closer to the time anyway, still a nondescript Div 3 campaign to muddle through.

Weren't wrong on the route though - New York, Mayo, Galway and Leitrim to win Connacht. Too easy!

4 wins needed to win a province of 5+2 teams. Only Prenty would get away with it!!!

Meath's Mickey Burke looking for the chance to end Dublin's dominance of Leinster

"I'm eating nothing but blueberries and avocados and spinach all day, every day.

"You might think I'm nuts. I am nuts, but I want to mark Bernard Brogan and Dean Rock and I want to win Leinster medals."

If we have an S&C coach who knows what he's doing I'd expect to see Mickey at least 5kg lighter for championship.
No good being able to carry a bullock on your shoulders if you're being turned inside out by a nippy corner forward.
