Title: China crisis - is this another 2008?
Post by: Eamonnca1 on January 08, 2016, 08:12:18 AM
Anyone keeping an eye on this? What do you think? Could the rest of the world be about to take a hit from China's troubles?

the financial system is very volatile. I bet the PTB will intervene.
The US is the big kahuna but it is probably a bit early for lehman redux

Keep a very close on this . If anything else, the last few years have shown how completely Ireland's economy is tied in with the global scene. It sneezes, we get pneumonia. We are a small island nation with no major natural resources bar a good climate for agriculture , wheeling and dealing in the global economy.

Ireland's recent recovery is based on the global economy improving, our woes in the past as a result of a global recession.
At the very least, it will affect the Irish in Australia and Canada.

It's more of a correction to the overblown China stock market rather than anything to do with real economics.

The China one child policy ended last October, expect the Chinese growth rates to increase once the demands of the population increase, this will start next September.

China has a big population problem looming. Not enough workers to support all the retiring boomers

Don't tell the government. They think the economy will collapse if they aren't re-elected!!!!

They never really built on this,  I suppose it was just Wishful Thinking.  Lived too much in the shadow of Echo and the Bunnymen and Frankie goes to Hollywood imho.

I could see Australia taking a bigger hit than a lot of western countries, with the mining boom that'll prolly come to an end now. You might see a lot of Irish emigrants returning home as a result of that.
