Tyrone 1-18, Derry 0-10.
Plenty of new faces in senior set up for Tyrone.
Louth v Armagh postponed till Tue night.
Wasn't at the game now, seemed to go for a very big physical full forward line with McShane, Quinn and Conlon all named there - not sure where they lined up.
Quinn hit 1-02 - didn't get many opportunities last year. Is he up to it?
Hard to tell anything this time of year. Derry won't be as easy in the league and less so again come the championship.
All you can do is keep taking your chances ....
What can ye tell us about young Quinn?

How did Hampsey play?
Will Clarke struggle to stay in the squad this year with the U21 lads pushing through?

I'd have high hopes for Conor Clarke - he looks like the type of lad who needs plenty of football to keep him on top of his game and hopefully with an injury free McKenna cup and NFL then we can see him perform to the level he was at before his injuries. If so, then he is a huge asset in my view.
I hope you're right Benny but from what I heard he had become even slower last year but maybe he could play the holding CHB role that Colm Cavanagh played so well last year in front of the defence.
Here's some excellent pictures from yesterday for those like myself who dont know the new faces.

I'd have thought Tyrone as AISFinalists would have been prevented from playing.
Is this pre season before the pre season?
Tyrone will probably win everything they enter this year...serious outfit.
As long as we win the McKenna cup.Anything else is a bonus :o
Armagh 0-17 Louth 4-10.
Tyrone v Louth final
Feel sorry for Dundalk FC.After Louth's win tonight, bang goes their chances of cleaning up at the Louth Annual Sports awards, and this Louth victory also overshadows the Corrs' comeback
Very disappointing from an Armagh perspective.
But hey, on the bright side, only 10 more sleeps until Santa comes.
Considering Armagh's entire half back line were forwards due to player unavailability, as well as young Shea Heffron making his debut in the full back line - I wouldn't be too despondent at shipping 4 goals....As long as we can shore it up in the new year.
Armagh 2016 - a few games in the championship, a few maybe in backdoor depending who they get and relegation to division 3 is all they can look forward too.

Armagh got beat by Tyrone by 70 points or something like that in the McKenna Cup 2 years back. Didn't do us any harm that year.
Yeah because the haul of trophies that year was amazing!

In what world is that - a world where you never win trophies or even come close - Armagh's run to the quarters that year was a fluke as showed by last year, and this year will back that up, McGeeney couldn't manage a piss up in a brewery - gormless all year the Galway match summed it up - defending in numbers when they were behind, you couldn't make it up.
Tyrone 2-15 Louth 0-8 in the final today.
Always good to keep the Garvaghey trophy cabinet team busy, they will need plenty of elbow grease for 2016.
Will the cup be brought around the schools?
Well done lads. Team was mostly made up of newcomers with aidy Mcrory the only regular starter that started with the returning Conor Clarke starting as well. Good to keep up the winning habit.
There won't be a cow milked in Tyrone this week!
Set you up well for a big push on the Mc Kenna cup this year.
Meanwhile I think the British Army have been more welcome in Crossmaglen Rangers ground than Tyrone

Sorry Benny, clearly you feel that genuinely there won't be a cow milked in Tyrone due to the victory yesterday and your intentions were to make an astute observation about the impact on the farming industry, rather than make a withering, sniggering comment on Tyrone winning a match that you would deem to be a pointless victory in Armagh, as your standards in recent years are much loftier. I stand corrected. Roll on the McKenna Cup.
What kind of team had they out?? Any lineups?
Tyrone: M O'Neill, A McCrory, P Hampsey, HP McGeary, T McCann (1-0), C Clarke, K McGeary (0-1), H Og Conlan, R Donnelly (0-1), C McCann (0-1), R O'Neill (0-2, 0-1 free), N Sludden (0-1), P Quinn, L Brennan (0-6, 0-5 free), D Mulgrew.
Subs: P Harte for C McCann, B Tierney for K McGeary, C McAliskey (1-1) for Mulgrew, P McNulty for Conlan, M Bradley (0-1) for Quinn, N Morgan for M O'Neill, C McShane (0-1) for R O'Neill, C McCann for Donnelly
Louth: N Gallagher, P Rath, P Reilly, K Murphy, E Lafferty, D McMahon, D Maguire, T Durnin, D O'Connell, A Reid, M Rafferty (0-1), D Byrne (0-1), G McSorley (0-3), B Flanagan, J McEneaney (0-3 frees).
Subs: K McLoughlin for Maguire, D Quigley for Reilly, T McEneaney for Flanagan, J Califf for Rafferty.
Referee: P Hughes (Armagh).
I would love to see Armagh win this with all new comers in the team, it would def be a good sign for the future even though it's not the most extravagant trophy to win it's a cup none the less. Congrats Tyrone. Looking forward to the league to see were we're at as Div 2 is competitive and hopefully see improvement from last season...

No one in Tyrone getting excited, but surely winning a pre season competition is better than losing it?
These type of competitions are the only things Tyrone actually manage to win these days.
Do the county board actually put these cups in a display cabinet or just chuck them into the McKenna cup bin out back, a rather large sized bin.
Even going through a bad spell by tyrones standards we've got further in the championship in 2 of the last 3 years than this current Monaghan dream team have ever managed. Another u21 all ireland title last year has fitted in well into the trophy cabinet.

If you've missed them so far you could still catch them tomorrow night in Charlemont, which is the last stop before heading back to Tyrone

From what I understand there was nothing official. It was just to get an extra game for both teams. Reports on county forum says it was played at Dub and ended in a draw.
I remember about 20 years ago Tyrone got to the final which ended in a draw. They played extra time and still no winner. It was settled with penalties. Can't remember who won. The match was in Crossmaglen so I m assuming it was the O Fiach Cup. Anyone else remember this?
