Title: The Interesting Northern Ireland Election Candidates Thread
Post by: muppet on April 15, 2015, 11:07:27 AM
Let's start with this one:

http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-ireland/this-woman-wants-homosexuality-criminalised-adultery-made-illegal-and-rock-groups-banned-and-now-she-wants-your-vote-30275867.html (http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-ireland/this-woman-wants-homosexuality-criminalised-adultery-made-illegal-and-rock-groups-banned-and-now-she-wants-your-vote-30275867.html)

Susan Anne White is standing as an independent in the new Fermanagh and Omagh district

BY ADRIAN RUTHERFORD – 15 MAY 2014

She's the woman who wants adultery criminalised, homosexuality made illegal and rock groups like Iron Maiden banned in Northern Ireland – and she wants your vote.

The 55-year-old is standing as an independent in the new Fermanagh and Omagh district and is campaigning on what she says are the three most serious threats to society – the "destructive" homosexual agenda, the growth of Islam and the "money-draining" EU.

"I don't consider myself extreme at all," Mrs White told the Belfast Telegraph.

She admitted her chances of being elected were "slim", but said she had received positive feedback from voters.

Originally from Newtownabbey, she moved to Trillick after marrying her husband Francis in 1997. They have a teenage daughter. Mrs White's campaign is based on 10 principles drawn up by Dr Alan Clifford, a Norwich-based minister whose anti-gay and anti-Islam rants have led to police investigations in the past.

Speaking to this newspaper, she criticised the "vulgarity" in modern society, including homosexuality, adultery, rock music and even poetry.

On gay people, she said: "I would – if I had the power – make homosexuality a criminal offence once again. I would also make adultery a criminal offence, so I'm pretty fair in that respect. I think adultery is a terrible sin.

"Society has fallen to such a low level that most people wouldn't even bat an eyelid at two men or two women walking hand in hand in the street."

Mrs White criticised the "destructive" agenda of homosexuality, and called for Section 28 – which banned its promotion in schools – to be reintroduced.

"We believe that we need to be safe from the destructive homosexual agenda, with Section 28 restored," she added.

"It (being gay) is portrayed as an alternative lifestyle and they are seeking to normalise it, and it's being forced on society.

"It is saturation coverage of the gay agenda and their various demands."

Mrs White said the "vulgarity" within society extended to the arts, including rock music and modern poetry.

She criticised "deafening" rock acts such as Iron Maiden and Kurt Cobain for promoting anarchy.

"One only has to think of some of those well-known rock groups from the 1970s and 1980s such as Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper and more recently Kurt Cobain," she added.

"The lyrics are promoting immorality, the noise is deafening, and they also promote anarchy."

I'd imagine Ms White's teenage daughter might wish mammy would just shut up.

Alliance, then Conservatives, back to Alliance.  No sign this time.

On the other hand, I see Gerard Catney is Alliance candidate in West Belfast - he took my friend out on a daytime date to Riverdance or something like that, kept looking at his watch because he had to be back up home to get his Sunday dinner from his mammy.  Not sure what age he is, but he's at least 34!

Politics by Carol Ann Duffy

How it makes of your face a stone
that aches to weep, of your heart a fist,
clenched or thumping, sweating blood, of your tongue
an iron latch with no door. How it makes of your right hand
a gauntlet, a glove-puppet of the left, of your laugh
a dry leaf blowing in the wind, of your desert island discs
hiss hiss hiss, makes of the words on your lips dice
that can throw no six. How it takes the breath
away, the piss, makes of your kiss a dropped pound coin,
makes of your promises latin, gibberish, feedback, static,
of your hair a wig, of your gait a plankwalk. How it says this –
politics – to your education education education; shouts this –
Politics! – to your health and wealth; how it roars, to your
conscience moral compass truth, POLITICS POLITICS POLITICS

And NI politics is that and more and them some

Brown and White.

This is beginning to feel like a Tarantino movie.

Back in the era of the NASA jackets, Binman Vs X-Ray etc.... Mr Brown had some interesting escapades. Little house up in Mullaghmore housing estate, lots of party time. Party Time!!

I near fell off my chair when I saw that headline a few weeks ago and the accompanying picture. But then it all made sense.

How is he given so much airtime? Obviously to be a cretin and to try and divide opinion but I believe its things like this are part of the BBC govt led agenda.  I'm not saying David Cameron is saying 'Get David Vance on Radio Six Counties' but I think in the name of 'balance' they bring out a controversial mouthpiece like himself to rile and engage trade unionists and working callers into spats of small single issues and in turn satisfying an agenda that allows austerity to become acceptable.

Because he is an easy choice. He is a "rent-a-quote" who you can guarantee will spout anti-agreement right wing views on any subject you throw at him.

The bookers can either spend a lot of time trying to arrange for a range of different people to be on a show or just take the easy option of calling someone who will always agree to be on and will always give predictable, inflame the listeners type responses.

I would encourage anyone in the Fermanagh and South Tyrone that maybe could not be bothered voting to read this and do what ever they feel is right.

The old 'early and often' card!!!

It's beyond that at this stage. It's purely sectarian politics, nothing else.

What Michelle failed to say was that they were running busses from Belfast to the polling stations across Fermanagh South Tyrone.

The Sinn Fein position is no different from the recent Israeli elections when Netanyahu proclaimed that the Arabs were coming
out droves and been bussed in to vote.

"The right-wing government is in danger. Arab voters are going en masse to the polls. Left-wing NGOs are bringing them on buses,"

This was another of their "Vote for us to keep them out" slogans used by both the main parties

This is a leaflet doing the rounds in North Belfast:

Sadly this is the extent of how they want us to vote. Never mind having any policies, just vote for us to keep themuns out.

The sadder thing is people still vote this way.

Interesting article showing, among other things, that Cameron has no idea of his country's history.
