You might be right on this one. Lost to Galway and only got over Westmeath by a point. Cork are the Dublin of ladies football.
6 of the Quarter Final teams are the same as the men. Although of course Monaghan are generally there in the Ladies but less often in the Men.

What's the story here? Are all the New York ladies team legal, unlike the mens team?
Yes Sy they are all legal, they were all ny based before jan 1 ( I think) and most of the team are American born. Huge achievement for ny and I know they were missing about 3 or 4 players who couldn't make the game because they started college this week. Hopefully they will be available for the final.

Makes what they've done even more impressive. Would love them to win the Junior AI. Hopefully followed by us winning the Inter AI..
That would be a great achievement for both teams. Ladies football in ny is on the upswing with the feile team winning division 3 this year after winning div 4 two years ago.

Not so fast! Ros v. Fermanagh and Leitrim v. Down in the AISFs first. Leitrim beat us by two goals in Connacht before they beat ye in the Connacht final so it would be nice to get another crack at them in the final if both teams win.

Drici only lists the ladies matches Roscommon loses. What a bollix.
Really poor keeping by Armagh and Roscommon today. I don't mean to be overly-critical but both keepers appeared afraid of being hit by the ball and hardly ever dived for a ball properly and rarely judged play correctly. Basic stuff for teams in AISFs not to be able to do to even a competent standard. It can't be that hard for ladies teams to find players willing to play goalkeeper correctly? It doesn't take unreal athleticism or even skill to be far better than what we saw today, just a bit of intelligence and training.
It always seems that the worst player on the panel ( and often the smallest and cuddliest) is stuck in goal.
Goalkeepers in women's sport are generally rubbish.
Haha, when I took up playing at the age of 25, I played in goals. There was never any coaching. I worked out better than others because I was (am) 5'9, taller than others, and played basketball so in girls terms I could catch a ball and prevent a few more goals than shorter girls who got chipped. However, I was def the worst player!
Good to see. The 3 Ladies finals will be refereed by women for the first time.

Agree re the match and quality of same. Much more than last week's men. Very hard for Dublin; some comeback by Cork but Dublin let them off the hook. Not for the first time either - if memory serves, this is now the 3rd such defeat to Cork when Dublin should have been home and dry. :o Still.... always next year and great to see such beautiful football and scoring.

Why? The ball was in play and in fairness I think Down were safe enough at that stage. At least the clock adds a bit of certainty and can be stopped for timewasting 'injuries' and subs with a bit of accuracy.
Good senior game but thought the ref missed a crucial third 'woman' tackle which cleaned out a Dublin defender for Cork's first goal. The right call there (a free out and yellow card) probably would have killed the comeback stone dead.
My firts time at the ladies finals and have to say it was a wonderful day; the atmosphere was brilliant, the crowd passionate, the decibel level at the end of the the senior final was incredible. It's time the GAA brought the LGFA under it's wing and gave them full support; our ladies contribute so much to the GAA and they deserve it
Was at a ladies final a few years ago. Jesus the squealing that goes on is brutal. It's like being at a One Direction concert.

My firts time at the ladies finals and have to say it was a wonderful day; the atmosphere was brilliant, the crowd passionate, the decibel level at the end of the the senior final was incredible. It's time the GAA brought the LGFA under it's wing and gave them full support; our ladies contribute so much to the GAA and they deserve it
It's the ladies who are holding it up not the GAA.

Great games yesterday.
Isn't the end of game klaxon coming in to the men's game next year? Hope there has been some thought given to this because it was galling to see the Down no 13 soloing towards her own goals at the end to run the clock down.
I thought the same on the cork goal. Definite free out. You have to feel for dublin on how they lost it.
