I can't see the UK leaving the EU (haven't a notion why I came to this conclusion), but as it happens, I was thinking about this very outcome the other day. UK's only land boundary is with us. With them outside the EU (hypothetically) you'd have to imagine the Irish government would try to facilitate a 'suitable arrangement'. It's a good question, and should be debated properly IF it happens.

It would be awkward for us, but devastating for the UK. I could see Scotland joining the EU shortly afterwards and who knows, even the wee 6. Wales might join too, but no one would notice either way.

Ireland will not leave the EU even if the UK leaves. Will be awkward for us all if a closed border exists between Ireland (Republic of) and Ireland (Northern).
